Sampler/taster at the brewpub. Pours a thin ivory head over a copper amber (SRM 18) body.....nose is dried fruits including cherry raisin.........taste is slightly sweet, light dried fruits (raisin, fig), light cocoa, fruity finish with hints of melon.......mouth feel medium, alcohol hidden, carbonation low. This is a pleasant, nicely balanced, not ovr complex beer. BJCP 7/3/14/4/7

Tap at Vine Street - like someone mixed a DIPA with an English Strong - quite a lot of plum, fig and other stone fruit character up front, as well as toffee and caramel - hops arrive late but come on strong - bitter, peppery and herbal - they work fairly well, but my big complaint is that they wash out the maltier aspects of the beer, which is what you generally want in a "winter warmer" - pretty tasty, none-the-less.

Tap @ Vine Street. Cloudy, maroon appearance with a tan head. Soapy, floral hoppy aroma. The flavor is a lot of the same. Soapy, floral hoppy, moderate fruity, somewhat boozy flavor. There is not a ton going on in my mind and I’ve waited for this thing to warm up.

On tap at Southern Sun. Slightly hazy dark rustic amber, with a lasting light khaki head. Big sweet malty smooth nose of caramel, toffee, subtle winter spice tones, light earthiness, and more toffee/caramel with a bit of dark stone fruit. Big flavor of spicy dark malts and smooth rich caramel. Big sweetness but also smooth English bitterness. Warming, toffee, spicy, molasses, and rich stone fruit tones.

draft. dull burgundy brown body with light haze. toasted grain, plum / black cherry (pits?) / dusty bread crumb and milk powder now. medium-full body with frothy carbonation, mostly smooth, only a bit harsh on the outside edges. the toasted nut, stone fruit and fig description is pretty spot on, though the herbal and spice character is pretty quiet. moderately sweet middle with a drying finish. decent stuff.
