True to specs, this red ale had the color and flavor expected. Very malty and smooth. Very easy to drink and the temperature was perfect.

6oz sample at MTS - Aroma is mellow. Malty, toffee, dust and a touch of hops. Pours transparent copper with a small head and decent lacing. Flavor is stronger than aroma, but not by much. Palate is sticky enough to let you know you’re drinking an amber. Non-offensive but nothing special.

On tap at Crunchy’s, East Lansing. Light sweetness with toast and caramel balanced by herbal, bitter hops. Unfortunately, the thin, watery body diminished much enjoyment.

Clear copper pour with great lacing. The nose is flat and subdued - lightly hopped at best. The medium body is surprisingly full with notes of chocolate malt and even some plum/dark fruits. Great body, lackluster nose.

This just goes to show the uninformed that there is such thing as shwag microbrews and this beer is one of them. Although not completely horrible, this beer lacked everything I look for in a red. Very thin pour with light maroon head. Drinks oaky with a slight ale flavour, but finishes a bit sour. All in all this one leaves me unimpressed
