2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
The aroma is sweet and sour with toasted malt, chocolate, and dust. The appearance is brown with a smaller head. The flavor is like the aroma and somewhat earthy. The palate is thin but smooth. Overall not a very good beer.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Rated on 5-30-2009 (Bottle) This beer pours a small off-white head, transparent reddish brown body, very little lacing and very little carbonation observed. The Aroma is chocolate malt, nutty, lightly roasty, and lightly hoppy. The Taste mimics the Aroma. The Palate is tingly and this beer is medium bodied. Overall, this beer is easy to drink, but the flavors just did not come together as they should have. There is no WOW factor with this beer and it left me not putting it on my list of beers that I would drink again.

2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Refrigerated bottle poured into a shaker. Pours a clear light brown with small off-white head. Aroma is very light nut, not much lacing, and thin body. Taste is slightly sour nut and a hint of light caramel. Not a fan.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
12oz bottle. Medium brownish amber in color with a small off-white head. Really nutty aroma, like a teabag almost with how many nuts there are. The flavor is surprisingly not bad. Big nuts, pecan and hazelnut, with some caramel malts but a weaker finish. A bit thin on the palate with average carbonation. Not bad actually. The best Iíve had from Mountaineer.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Not bad for the style--the chocolate malt is a nice addition, the nuttiness is highly pronounced, and the hops a bit restrained for style and origin. Drinkable! (local gas station, Fayetteville, Fayette Co.)

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 11/20
Bottle via trade. Pours a clear orange color with a light ring of white head. Aroma is big chocolate malts, cocoa, caramel and nutty. Flavor is much the same. Lots of sweet malts and caramel sweetness. Not a bad sampling.

2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz bottle, brown label. Medium brown color, no head. Aroma of raisin, toasted malt, a bit of butter. Blah. Flavor of roasted grains and sour apple. I was afraid it was infected. Once you get past the sour, it finishes with a chocolate malt character.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
A nice, mild brown ale perfect for drinking a few. A short-lived fizzy head, with a wonderful malty, nutty, chocolate aroma. The taste is disappointing with malty and nutty flavors dominating. It sits watery and light bodied in the mouth and finsishes with very subtle roasted flavors, with woodsy nut flavors continuing. Overall it is, simply, a good brown ale.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Aroma is kind of nutty. First ever beer from West VA. A little watery with a big nut flavor. Pours a brown-esque color. Aroma is great and the nuttiness sticks all the way through but the rest is too thin. Almost there beer.
