brew4fun (137), West Virginia, USA Nov 28, 2007 12 oz bottle. Pours black as 3 o’clock in the morning, thin non-persistent tan head. Aroma lightly of roasted malt and coffee. Flavor is great malty balls of fire! Roasted malt (primarily) and caramel malt really grab the attention! A definite hint of smoked malt, and everything that is good in the world. A robust stout, to be sure! thechandler (216), West Virginia, USA May 9, 2008 Pours espresso black. Nearly no head, but whats there is a light brown. Aroma is malt. Mostly coffee, slightly sweet. Flavor is pretty strong. LOTS of cofee, lots of chocolate flavor too. Wow. Strong but Smooth too. strangaj (215), West Chester, Ohio, USA Dec 21, 2007 Not great, but not bad. Fairly well balanced and plain. Sticks true to the flavor of an oatmeal stout. I wouldn’t turn this one down Beerman6686 (816), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 30, 2007 Sweet coffeeish smell, creamy thick chocolately taste, very dark alsmot completely black with whittish head. Pretty good, but not dry enough to be a dry stout. jb (775), Rochester, New York, USA Nov 18, 2007 Ron put together an extremely nice tasting and this was the dessert. Thanks Ron!!! Very very dark, slightly red highlights. This is labeled dry stout, but I didn’t find it that dry. Oily palate, nutty, crackers, peanut butter in palate, well balanced and gritty. Aroma of chocolate and toasted notes.
