Draft at green dragon. Pours black with a dense and creamy tan head. Bright sweet nose. Great combination of sweet earthy chocolatey malt and bright tropical fruits from the hop. Creamy medium body with lively carb. Nice sweet caramel malts and tropical fruit hop on the mid palate. Mild sweet finish.

On draught at 3rd Annual Black Friday event at Green Dragon. Opaque black color with lasting creamy head. Aroma is pineapple, mango, and other tropical hops, with a subtle backbone of roasted dark malts. Taste is a very balanced blend of the roasted dark malting, bright floral and tropical fruit hops, with notes of coffee and dark chocolate. A very refreshing and warming black IPA.

22oz bomber shared by Ed. Poured a decent looking medium density dark chocolate brown with a foamy beige head. Aroma is like a Wookie Jack clone, excellent. Flavor of light chocolate, hops, orange citrus, spice, well done toast and a hint of some coffee grounds. Palate is medium overall with a nice dose of carbonation and a kick of bitterness on the end. Good good stuff.

Tap @ Black Bottle. Pours a brown appearance with a nice brown head. Quite piney and herbal, caramel and brown sugar aroma. Dark fruity, fig, toffee, burnt malty, bitter piney flavor. Not my favorite. A bit watery actually.

Deep brwon slightly changed by light. Smells like chocolate hops. Battle of the hop bitter vs the coffee bitter. Palate is left bitter.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Apex, pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma brings out roasted malt, citrus hops, and toasted bread. Flavour brings out lightly toasted malt, piney hops, and toasted bread. Really well-balanced, without any astringency or harsh roast quality. Alcohol is extremely well-hidden as well. Great stuff.

I really like the aroma on this. Lots of hops with just a tad bit of roast. A slight coffee to it, but at a level that I enjoy. A great black IPA. A very dry finish.
