4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Strong, oily aroma fills the nose with molasses, sweet chocolate and nuts. (And I am nuts about porters - haw haw haw!) It pours a luscious sable that is opaque save at the very edges, and the frothy beige head is rather persistent. Flavor has firm coffee, nutty and sweet chocolate tones with just a hint of caramel. Texture is fairly smooth and leaves a soft but appreciable tingle on the lips and tongue. I recommend this to porter fans.

Served from a 22 oz bottle from BevMo. The appearance is a medium dark brown with a big disappearing while lacing tan head. The nose has some nice oatmeal and medium roast malts. The flavors are a medium bodied medium roast malt with some darker coffee/ espresso notes. Good milk chocolate and cola flavors as well. The mouth is medium bodied with a moderate creaminess and overall clean.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Pours a bruin body with an off white head. Malty body with chocolate notes, light espresso, butterscotch sweetness, coffee and caramel. Light roasted malt tones, pretty bitter with a hint of butter. Pretty sweet overall, eh, seems a little flawed.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
From the Brewpub in Novato, this draft poured came a very dark brown with a nice foamy tan head and lots of lacing. Nose of rich chocolate and a whiff of coffee. Medium body and a smooth creamy mouthfeel. The flavor is of roasted malts with the chocolate and coffee. Long bitter finish. Good, easy drinking porter. Goes down easy.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
22 ounce bottle - $5.55 at Ale Yeah! in Decatur, Georgia.
Appearance: Pours a very dark brown, near black body (straight up black if in a poorly lit area) with a finger’s worth of buff-hued head that recedes fairly quickly.
Smell: Darkly toasted bread, espresso powder, and a good portion of cocoa. Hint of activated charcoal and dark fruits as well.
Taste: Malty tastes of roasty-toned coffee and bittersweet chocolate morsels binded with unsweetened chocolate and a touch of fire-charred bread crust and powderized licorice. Low level of sweetness. A bit of tannic prune skin. Earthy undertones. Moderately bitter. Chalky, minerally quality to it. Lightly acidic. Roasty, mineral-hinted finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium-light carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel.
Overall: Not bad. A smooth, relatively engaging robust porter.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Full bodied, smooth porter. The flavor is a sweet mix of coffee, cherries, grapes, and chocolate. A bit of bready stickiness in the aftertaste.
