Commercial Description:
This strong Moylan's brew is what keeps those Irish eyes a smiling. Its deep amber radiance has been described by our brewer as the most visually enticing beer. This ale's rich malty flavor, full body, invigorating aroma, and expansive finish empower it to be extremely satisfying and repeatedly enjoyed. Great Western Two Row Pale Malt, De Wolf-Cosyns' Caravienne and Munich Malts are allied to provide the 1.070 beginning specific gravity, while Fuggle and Liberty hops balance this sweetness. A classic rich and malty ale from Ireland. Unlike most "want-to-be" red ales, Moylan's red has a rich caramel character balanced with a low hop profile.

Poured a nice clear amber color with a 1/2 inch off-white head and very little retention. Smelled earthy. I can’t say much more about the smell because it wasn’t very prominant. What I could smell smelled good though. Again, very earthy and malty, with some caramel malts adding a bit of sweetness to the brew. Almost watery in the mouth, good carbonation level but a very thin beer. Really good. I enjoyed this a lot. I drank it from a 24oz bottle, and if I’d had two of them I’d have cracked open the second and gotten piss drunk to be sure. Serving type: bottle

This beer pored nicely with a very nice head. The aroma was wonderful and flavor was full, almost woody. This is a very delicious and full bodied beer.

Pours with very little head. Taste is malty and barley. Very little carbonation. Not too bad.

Poured from 22oz bottle a hazed reddish-amber with medium sized beige head. Aromas of grain, malt, and straw. Flavor is malty with a big dose of earthy grains and caramel sweet. The palate is very full malted mouth that starts sticky sweet and grow even sweeter. Overall, not bad flavor but the sweetness is out of balance and drowns out the good aspects of this beer. I would not seek this one out, but might try it again if some gave me one.

Not a really fan of this, the aroma was an interesting enough mix of maltiness but the flaovr was just malt and barly with no balance at all. My friend who really likes malt flavors enjoyed it but i could not,

22 oz bottle. Pours a hazy amber with 2 cm off white head that is slowly diminishing. Aroma of malt, earth, and caramel. Initial flavor was a mellow sweetness, nothing real distinctive. Ends kind of the same, bland malty sweetness. Some carbonation, light lacing, light to medium body, and almost no alcohol noted. Overall pretty mediocre.
