On tap at Sugar Maple. Clear ruby with a thin off-white cap. Aroma of toffee, sweat socks and faint dark fruits. Taste of toffee, light peaty and smoked notes and not much in terms of hops. While not bad, it never really made it there for me.

This beer has a very pleasing aroma of apples soaked in brandy. It has a rich reddish brown color. It has very much the flavor of brandy. Sweet and a little sour. A very very good beer. A must try for sure. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap @ Beachwood BBQ. Dark amber pour with an off-white head. The nose is sweet caramel, dark fruits, and brown sugar. Fairly strong raisin and plum aromas. Light spice note, too. Sweet flavor of caramel and brown sugar. Notes of plum and raisin, a touch of alcohol, and maybe some vanilla.

Brown with amber highlights and a cream colored head. Nuts and marzipan aroma with flavors of malt and toffee. Full bodied. The alcohol is well hidden within its sweet viscosity.

I actually had the batch 1500 but i doubt there is a separate place to rate this beastly beer. The aroma is sweet and nutty but the beer is so boozy it takes from the flavor a bit. Overall great but maybe a little overkill with the malt.

On tap at independent ale house in rapid city. Nice caramel and toffee aromas and flavours. Enjoyable.

Double Kiltlifter! Growler from timfoolery. The double batch has a great palate, a little heavier I think, and pretty nicely balanced.

On tap at the brewpub. Aroma and flavor of a double-batch of my favorite super-nutty and malty local brew. Palate is awesome. Nice amount of carbonation, but does lose a little nuttiness with so much malt. Still, excellent beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap 4 oz. sample at Moylan's Brewery and Restaurant. Menu said 10% ABV, but chalkboard said 11.2%. Although they still call it "Batch 1000" in the menu description, this is clearly not the original Batch 1000, but is a more recently brewed batch. Clear, dark brown with no head and fair lacing. Aroma of whiskey, roasted malt, dark fruit, toffee and molasses. Taste is sweet with flavors of whiskey, roasted malt and molasses. Rather boozy. Very full body and average carbonation. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
