Color is clear, almost light-ruby, with a small, quickly vanishing head. Huge hop aroma! I knew immediately I would love this beer. Bitter, piney, oily, fruity. Everything I love in a big IIPA. Seriously, very well done. I am impressed!

On tap at Taps in Petaluma. A very enjoyable less bitter double IPA. Don't think I've ever tasted such a subtly hopped double IPA.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 cmonster (897) - Portland, Oregon, USA - FEB 21, 2013
Growler. Pours hazy copper with a medium sized head. Good retention. Big time alpha nose. Like two spruce trees taking a bath in hop oil. There’s a dusting of sweetness and floral mixed in if you dig deep. Medium sweet attack followed by a surpisingly balance mid-palate. Must be the big malt component that pushes the ABV. The second sip however is pure bitterness. Medium body, average carbonation, oily texture, and an endless uber-bitter finish. Absolutely one to seek out for hop addicts needing a fix.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 bvc (1102) - Kenmore, Washington, USA - FEB 16, 2013
Draft at Moylan’s. Slight haze copper orange golden with sticky head/lacing. Aggressive bitter piney astringent hop forward, some peach fruitiness, also earthy tones and noticable, but faint, malt bill that adds a touch of sweetness to balance the hops. Very bitter up front, astringent, some malt sweetness comes in in the mid palate but finishes with enamel ripping bitterness.
