Bottle from Darby’s Liquor, Vancouver
No dating on the bottle. The cap is waxed, not difficult to remove, but I would gladly save 1$ and do without wax. It has a beautiful hazy golden color with medium sized head. The aroma is rich with undeniable hop quality, very piney, a bit citrusy and skunky, a hint of cedar wood. Lean body, moderately sweet, hence highly drinkable, also because the alcohol is just a warning feeling; perfect malt canvas, lightly biscuity, and then the hopping appears with piney resins and sweet orange peel, moderately fruity too. Long pleasant final.
Excellent beer, but too expensive.

Clear orange color with a white head. Some swee malt and hop aroma. A bit of orange, some mango, and a fair amount of peach. Caramel, some floral notes, and a light pine. The flavor is quite sweet, too. Peach, caramel, mango, and orange. A light tangerine note, some pine, and a good floral flavor. A bit sweet, but still enjoyable.

Cask at Rubicon for Sacramento Beer Week. Pours clear copper with a white head. Resin aroma. Med body. Flavor is bitter resin. And earthy. And maybe citrus. It’s somewhat evergreen (besides resin) but more earthy. Really bitter and hoppy. Nice in the mouth.

On tap at Avery Strong Ale Fest poured a clear tarnished gold with a lasting ivory head. Aromas of biscuit, grapefruit, orange zest, pine and light grassiness. Palate was medium bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, grapefruit, pine and light skunk bud with a crisp dry bitter lingering pine finish.

On tap at Apex, pours a hazy golden with a medium white head. Aroma is super pungent and skunky, with herbal hops, very pot-like, no malt showing. Flavour is very potent, full of skunky herbal hops, again very pot-like and potent – like a marijuana plant soaked in a IIPA. Lots of depth and full flavoured, but a bit overburdening on the palate. Excellent, nonetheless.
