4.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Big change coming from the Cantillon Iris to this - beer 15 at the party, for me. Almost some malts in the aroma! The taste is very hoppy, with a simple finish that just gets more and more hops, esp. in the after after-taste. Nice.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Iíve been hanging on to this one for a bit but am glad I finally cracked it open. Citrusy, slightly spicy aroma. I swear I get a little bubble gum aromas as well. Creamy white head adds texture on the first couple of sips. Sweet caramel tastes with a sugary aftertaste that lastes for a while. Finish is the expected bitter taste but not overpowering. Reminds you of what kind of beer you are drinking. Well made double. Big ups to fordest for this one.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle thanks to footbalm: Amber color with a medium off white head, some lacing. Aroma, citrus, pine and caramel, big big hops. Could smell them a foot away from the glass. Flavor, more citrus and pine, oozing hops, but a nice malty backbone, great bitterness on the finish, but not overwhelming, thereís some sweetness in there as well. It was a pleasure to drown in this bomber.

4.4 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Sampled many times, including during a blind IIPA tasting. Iíve mentally rated this higher during other times than the blind tasting, so Iím going to go with these impressions. I suspect the beer may have been a bit cold during the blind tasting, which would have quelled its killer aroma. Hazy dull brown, wan head. Aroma has a big hop presence (tangerine, light flowers), and a sizeable dollop of malt as well (chocolate, toffee, dough). Ever-so-slight whiff of diacetyl, which I like. Nutty, biscuity maltiness in flavor, fresh citrus notes carry on from aroma. High level of bitterness, yet at the same time quite smooth. Oranges figure prominently in the finish. I love this stuff.

3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Beer #2 at Grantís Blind IIPA tasting. Single blind for me. Grapefruity, citrus hop aroma tht is pleasant, sweet, and floral. Some nice sweet malty notes are also detected. Rather quaffable. Moderately hazy amber color with a moderately light off-white head and some decent lacing. Lightly sweet grainy maltiness with some roastiness present in the middle. Dry, earthy hoppiness to finish. Rather grapefruity and too dry of a finish for my tastes. Still decent.

3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a very cloudy orange with a lofty miruengue head. Aroma is of heady malts, maybe melanoidin, and piney, grassy hops. Body is med. with low CO2 and no harsh hop astringency. The flavors are severely muted by age. There is a nice malt and juicy hop mix but nothing that really slams you in the nose, and therefore the tongue, with hops. Bitterness is there and is nicely drying but I tried this at GABF and it was right up there with Pliney and the PP IIPAs. I will have to seak out another bottle of this closer to the bay area.

4.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle poured a crisp copper amber with a thick foamy head and sticky lacing that clung to glass.
Srong citrus and grapefruit aroma that I could still smell from a foot across the table.
Big citris and pine flavor with a sweet hoppy finish that linger a good bit.
It just seemed a little thin to me ...but what do I know.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
22oz bottle via trade with SDBruBoy! - Thanks Cliff.. Pours cloudy amber with a thick offwhite head that stays well and laces the sides of the tulip.. Wow the aroma of this one is straight up grapefruit and pine.. Nice refreshing and clean aroma that will clear the sinuses right up.. Tons of hops in this one.. Flavor is amazingly well balanced though there are lots of hops there.. Lots of grapefruit, and pine but more pineapple and apricot with caramel tucked behind it all.. Wow this is what a big IPA is all about.. Bursting with flavors yet sooo balanced.. Palate is ever so smooth for a big hoppy brew.. Carbonated well but not overly so.. Resfreshing an very clean on the palate.. Nice bitter finish makes you come back for more again and again until you are wishing the bottle would refill.. This is beautiful stuff..

5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 20/20
22oz. Bottle. I didnít think I would find a beer that would deserve a 5 but this has to be it so far. Aroma was like cutting a fresh grapefruit. Body was a murky copper color with decent head and left spider web sugar lacing. Flavor was a good dose of citrus hop grapefruit, juciy, and sweet sugar. Alcohol content was well hidden, unlike some high octane beers that makes it feel like your forehead will hit the table. Great citrus aftertaste cool and crisp on the palate, great beer.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Hazy copper body with lots of tiny bubbles; thin, rocky beige head. Aroma is very hoppy and rich, with lots of pine and grapefruit. Flavor is a pungent hop attack right from the start. Very peppery and bitter with some apricot fruitiness. More grapefruit and citrus. Carbonation is moderate, just right. Finshes dry and sticky with loads of hoppiness lingering long after the beer is gone. Alcohol presence is about right for a 9%er. Very nicely done.
