Syd (888), Waconia, Minnesota, USA Sep 26, 2008 Bottle pours a light amber yellow with not much head and some light lace. The aroma is grapefruit and hop oils. The flavor is sweet, very hopped (serious hop oils - resin), pine, and mandarin orange. The palate is medium rich and lively. Overall, this is quite nice, drinkable, and pleasant. Cheers to this. frankenkitty (1900), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA Sep 24, 2008 Cellared for a year, this was a real gusher when opened. That being said, its cream-colored head started huge and fell in peaks like a rootbeer float. Beneath that, an orange/amber body showed heavy particulate. Dry whiffs of Tang off the top which morphed into less artificial aromas of orange and tangerine along with a fresh pine scent. Malted notes beneath with mild alcohol. Grapefruit dominates flavor with additional citrus fruits and toffee. Finishes dry and lingers long with citric bitters. ((((((Since my traditional html references no longer work, I will simply mention that this 22 oz bottle was purchased in September, 2007 from Lundeed Liquors in Sycamore, IL.)))))) And I will continue to whine about my inability to use common punctuation and quotations in my reviews (along with the most inoffensive html tags) without having them explode into a shrapnel-storm of ampersands. nearbeer (1833), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Sep 9, 2008 Updated: Sep 11, 200822 oz. @ Brickskeller. Hazy golden amber with a one-finger lasting head. Resin, citrus and honey aroma. Flavor is molasses, turning to spicy resin and citrus. Light-medium body is mostly smooth and finishes dry. Gypsy19 (604), California, USA Aug 28, 2008 A good IPA, but a little too heavy on the grapefruit hoppiness, in my opinion. For an IPA lover, this might be considered excellent. For me, still delicious and fun to drink. Good body character and carbonation. Would have again if the opportunity presented itself. grimreeser (795), Minnesota, USA Aug 27, 2008 Pours orange amber with a decent head. Aroma is quite hoppy, but there is a nice malt backbone there also. Solid bitterness. fidelis83 (709), Clinton, Iowa, USA Aug 24, 2008 Pours dark honey with 2 finger head, that fades slowly to 1 finger and leaves alot of lacing. Aroma is floral and citrus hops, cranberries, and toffee like sweetness. Flavor starts off flowery, with a sweetness, like dark chocolate covered caramel. Followed by grapefruit and a nice crisp resiny finish. Mouthfeel’s a little on the thin side for an IPA but the dry finish carries it well. It all pulls together to be equally good as a sipper or a slurper. SuperDave70 (1157), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA Aug 20, 2008 Hazy amber pour with a long lasting foamy head that laces nicely. Aroma is mostly floral hops, with a touch of citrus and caramel malt. Flavor has a touch of the malt and citrus hops, but is dominated by floral soapy tasting hops that last through the finish and stick in the mouth. Maybe it would be better to shower in it than to drink it. ante (2904), Stockholm, Sweden Aug 20, 2008 Bottled at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Pours out in a hazy amber colour with a low rocky lasting white foam. Almost soliely hops in the aroma of resin, grapefruit and gras ith a wee hint of peaches. Medium-bodied with strong hoppy notes of grapefruit, grass, and resin with touches of caramel and nectarines. Long really bitter finish of grapefruit-rind, grass and dry spices.
