kimcgolf (824), Dacula, Georgia, USA May 21, 2008 Poured to a golden-yellow-orange with medium thick white head that lingered thru mid-glass and left okay lacing. Aroma was the anticipated citrusy grapefruit hops, although milder than I was expecting, especially from Moylan. Mouthfeel was medium boided and slightly tangy, and the flavor picked up the citrus hops as well. This all led to a long smooth finish.
While a darn good beer, it was not quite along the same line as other Moylan’s I’ve had. kmeves (1080), Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA May 20, 2008 Pours a lightly hazed light amber topped by medium white head. Aroma is medium sweet, grapefruit, pine and light caramel. Flavor is medium sweet, sharp grapefruit, pine, light pineapple and peach. Medium dry finish. Medium body, chewy texture. sneagrams3 (1704), St. Louis, Missouri, USA May 19, 2008 Tasted 5/1/08. 22oz bomber. Hazy with an amber golden hue. Bone white bubbled head. Melon, grapefruit and slightly peppery aromas. Solid nose. Bitter and medium bodied. Sticky and dry. Bready malts and piney hops. Par. SkyinBrian (429), Collinsville, Illinois, USA May 15, 2008 mhhhh, quite hoppy, but not much else, could use more balance...flavor is piney with just a bit citrus character...pretty ordinary overhopped ipa roder60 (1019), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA May 12, 2008 Pours a nice clear dark orange color with a nice amount of foamy white head. Aroma is very much of sugared grapefruit which i absolutely love - very strong and nice. Flavor is very sweet and malty - lots of caramel flavors with nice floral citric hop character but not overpowering. Great balance and nice medium mouthfeel. This is a great IPA. zootfinster (179), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 11, 2008 Not being an IPA fan my rating is somewhat biased. I guess it’s a good beer for its style. lots of hops and lots of carbonation. The flavor is very citric. Ever once in a while I try an IPA to see if my taste has changed--It hasn’t Acknud (770), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA May 8, 2008 Nice IPA. Balanced malt and hops but finishes with a good floral hop taste and arome. Full bodied in the mouth. gws57 (1131), Saint Charles, Illinois, USA May 2, 2008 Found this one bottled at Lundeen’s in St. Charles, Illinois. Hazy dark orange pour with a thick and foamy light tan head, brassy nose of floral hops, clover honey and a hint of chocolate malt. Interesting taste: the bitterness of rosy hops, orange rind, gin and very strong tea. Finishes strong and bitter. I’d call it a hop bomb but it really wasn’t all that hoppy, there’s a lot more going on with this one.
