Commercial Description:
Our version of the IPA beer style possesses a deep golden hue, rich malty flavor, a bold, complex, and enduring hop finish and is extremely full bodied. We dry hop this brew and use a combination of Fuggles and Chinook hop varieties resulting in an extremely enticing floral and spicy aroma as well as hop character. Great Western Two Row Pale Malt, De Wolf-Cosyns' Caravienne and Munich Malts are combined to achieve an initial specific gravity approaching 1.065.

Surprised I haven’t rated this yet. 22 ounce bottle purchased at BevMo in Natomas, CA. Floral, herbal, lightly peppery hop aroma. A little grassy, too. I don’t know...the aroma seems relatively ordinary. Transparent orange-copper body with a pretty frothy whitish head that leaves fair lacing. Husky, resiny, hoppy start with lots of tannins. Wow, just dry, and very bitter. Aspirin-like bitter hops...almost medicinal. Wow, really one-dimensional and quite poor.

Golden-amber with a medium head. Aroma dominated by a nice grassy/floral/earthy hop mix with lots of bready/caramel malt. Flavor is heavy with caramel malt, but crisp and bitter with some grass and earth. Pleasant mouthfeel , but a bit shy of "really good".

Pours medium gold/amber. Aroma strong of typical IPA style, grass, grapefruit, hops, caramels. Flavour is of a full bodied IPA, extremely pleasant beer. Yummy. Love the fact of the Irish/Scottish Moyland style ale. Extremely smooth, tasteful IPA beer.

Super piney and citrus aroma. a little B.O. smell too. Pours super clear copper color. Flavor is pretty much the same. Lots of west coast hops. Kind of disappointed in a lack of malt. very thin body. Still a good IPA and better than the rating. Same flavors as Breckenridge IIPA and Troegs Nugget nectar. I wanna say there are a lot of simcoe hops.

Bomber Bottle. Typical IPA, very hoppy and medium body. More floral than resinous, with a dryer finish than usual.

Thick head stays strong and spongy in the glass, has body and character of its own, like a root beer float. Smells bright, sunny, fresh and young. Sharp and oily initial hop burst gives way to a well rounded earthiness before finishing with a pointed citrus bitter finish. Not every good IPA needs to be balanced.

Huge aggressive bitterness all over the mouth, including bouncing right on the tip of the tongue. Huge hop flavor, exploding in the mouth both floral and fruity. Mango, orange, and even fresh canteloupe. Everything points to that color, which is nearly the same as the beer itself. Pine resin explodes in the back of the mouth. Beautiful ability to present a complex veriety of hop flavors, but they are sorted out such that you taste them independently. Plenty pale malt to hold up the hops and keep it in enough balance to keep the hops in check and prevent them from running wild and overpowering the beer, but plays enough of a backseat to allow this beer to be a hop vehicle. This is everything an American IPA should be. The mouthfeel is fantastically smooth and full, but light enough to keep the beer from getting oppressive. Just a fantastically crafted IPA. I am very sorry that I’ve been overlooking these guys for so long. I’m going to start seeking out more Moylan’s beers. BTW, I was shocked to see that the hops used appear only to be Fuggles and Chinook. I couldn’t even begin to guess how they made this beer with those hops. Consider me impressed.

a golden copper color with thin but lasting offwhite head. floral resin aroma with some spicy citrus fruit in the background. medium thin, slightly sticky body. tastes mostly of floral pine and grass with a medium bitterness. there is some orange peel and light roasted caramel underneath. very flavorful, while not being too cloying
