as soon as I opened the bottle I was hit hit with a strong pine resin and grapefruit aroma....color of apple juice with a 2 finger white rocky head....medium amount of lacing...so far this is a good looking and smelling beer...very bitter with a hint of light sweetness....over the top with the hops....strong pine pitch taste masks everything else....this was pretty good for me, probably not so good if you don’t like hops...there are a lot of other better more easily available IPAs available in VA

UPDATED: SEP 5, 2009 Darker orange body with a large off white head. Obvious grapefruit smells come out with some notes of poppy seed lemon bread. The taste is bread crust with strong grapefruit. Notes of fresh green beans. A relatively thin body, but it’s complementary to the beer. A nice IPA, but a bit unbalanced on the hop side, definitely for hop heads. I tried again and found it about the same.

Pours with an enormous, pillowy head. Extremely hazy chestnut body. Almondy, yeasty aroma, moderately hoppy, some brown sugar. Obvious English hops character. Flavor is intially laced with caramel malt, brown sugar, and then transitions into the hoppy aspects. Dusty, slightly celery-ish hoppiness. Very sharply carbonated, as expected from the abundant head. The carbonation and some solventy aspects draw away from this.

Appears a hazy, light orange with a huge, creamy, chunky head of white sea foam that sticks around for the entire duration. Tons of chunky lacing is left all around the glass.
Smell is of orange, earthy grapefruit, light pine, sweet caramel, and flowers.
Taste is of the mentioned aromas with more of a doughy batter mixed with flowers, sugar, grain, and sugar.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied, semi-sweet with brown sugar, and bitter of floral leaves.

22 oz bottle. Bright orange with a gluey and big head. The aroma is nice -- fruity and piney. The flavor is heavily leaning toward the hops as you’d expect ... quite sharp and metallic, even stinging. The body is a bit thinner than I’d have guess. The overarching impression here is in the biting hop bitterness. It defines this beer. (#3275, 1/6/2008)

UPDATED: FEB 25, 2008 Draft @ brewery. deep golden color and solid aroma. Initial malt sweetness progresses into a nice burst of hops and then a nice dry finish. This has a wonderful overall flavor and I rated it as the best beer from my visit, ALTHOUGH there was no Hopsickle when I was there.

Wow. 22 oz bomber. Nice orangish color. Decent head. Hoppy citrus nose. HUGE pine/grapefruit/hop flavor which does diminish as it warms. Most beers I have tried with this much flavor are in the 8-9% range.
At $3 and change a bomber WELL worth it.

Nice grapefruit with some Juniper and yeast. Cloudy somewhat muted color. Smooth yet potent hoppiness. Slick start with a drying finish on the tounge. Bitter finish
