Very frothy, big-bubbled head over a cloudy orange body. Much too carbonated for me taste, really. It bursts in your mouth and kind of takes away from the whole enjoyment. The body is a tad too thin and watery in the finish as well, but its OK for such a warm evening as this. Strangely creamy for an IPA as well. Pleasantly balanced hop types, gently malted. It’s not up to Hopsickle standards, but this was $2.99 a bomber at BevMo and I couldn’t be happier with the results. Obviously, these folks make some much better ales, but I have no regrets on slugging this one down. I’ll continue to buy it at this price. Best Of Show in the "Under $3" category. Sticky, mostly lasting almost white head, leaving nice sheets of lace. Sweet floral nose, various myriad of fruit, melon, tangerine, apricot, mango, pear, strong lemon, sticky resionous pine. Firm malt backbone, biscuity, faintly toasted, light bodied, resinous, earthen, stone, dirt, stinky grapefruit, piney hops. Hopheads rejoice! A nice straight jumpin IPA. Spicy pad thai, with extra lime please. Thank goodness these guys have made it out this end of the state! IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 6, 2006 Poured a somewhat hazy golden with a large creamy white head. Clean crisp aroma of fresh citrus and pine hops. Taste is somewhat thinner than the aroma and very dry, consisting mostly of some piney hops with a touch of grapefruit. Not a whole lot of malt body to back this one up, which is probably the one thing keeping it from being better. However it’s got good hop character and is a nice dry and refreshing IPA. brianprentiss (473), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | May 31, 2006 Decent IPA. Too expensive for what you get, too bitter, excellent head and lacing, beautiful to look at. Sregnar35 (729), Rotterdam, New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 24, 2006 Not bad, not great. Pours mirky orange with a good lacing head, though small. Aroma is fantastic fresh grassy hops. Flavor is watery and soapy, tough does have enough hop character to not suck, the soap s underlying I guess. There is a bit of sweetness too, but it’s not the freshest taste. ultraspank (866), Dublin, Ohio, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | May 15, 2006 Colossal cornucopia of flowers, spruce & pine, spice, etc., etc. I’m drooling like a
Pablovian dog. The brew pours a honey amber. The mammoth head is about as big as a
beer head can be. 1st pour = 1/4” of brew, the rest of the pint glass is head. The head is
rocky, off white, stiff, fully lasting, and leaves behind perfect globs of lace sticking to the
sides of the glass. The flavor has outstanding balance for the style. A floral malt start
moves to a spicy acidic middle. The finish though decent could be more bitter. The light
body is creamy and soft, the finish feels a tad dry. Very sophisticated for the style. ehhdayton (1113), USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Apr 27, 2006 The aroma is a pleasent herbal. The color is golden with a huge, too large, light tan head. Head retention is fully lasting with thick lacing. While the bitterness is present the overall impression of the hops does not come through. Instead the palate is left with the bitterness but none of the appealling qualities of the hops.
