saboteur-like nose... herbaceous, nutty and salty mixed with alcohol, flowers, caramel and a mild sourness akin to cider vinegar.
big nutty wood flavor sits atop notes of medicine/rubber/smoke, salt, caramel and a touch of the aforementioned sourness. it is on the sweeter side but alcohol cuts through. medium body. 6/4/6/3/15

On tap at Oakquinox. Pours with no head and a hazed bronze-brown body. Aromas of apple cider, mulling spices, brandy, caramel and toffee. Flavors of oak, brandy, cranberry, caramel. Tannic with a dry finish. Completely flat.

Caramel colored pour. Aroma is heavy up front with alcohol, brandy, malt, light peat, brown sugar. Flavor hits up front with booze then the calvados comes out with some syrup and light toffee.

On tap at Papago. Pours a dark red/brown color with a small white head. A sweet brandy and scotch ale malty nose. Rich sweet apple brandy, some fruity toasted malts, heat, easy going with a thin palate- which was nice.

This is all around a beautiful beer. Clear dark orange with no head. Amazingly floral rose hip apple brandy caramel and oak aroma and taste. Just outstandingly complex with a silky smooth palate. A really enjoyable beer hands down.

On tap at Bailey’s Taproom Third Anniversary Barrel Aged Fest. Pours out a copper/amber topped with a small sand head. Aroma was of sweet apple, light booze, citrus, and some malt. Taste was much as the aroma but with the apple leading the way. A touch of oak but not until the very end.
