Did anyone order a glass of foam??? I know i didnt but that is what i got, this beer had a white head that looked like a root beer float head and lasted four times as ling, i couldnt believe it. the clear, red-brown body that supported this incredible head was a smooth medium bodied treat of a scotch ale. at 8% the head lasted ages and the alcohol was very well hidden behind a very comfortable smokiness. i say comfortable because that is what it is in my mouth, it was not forced into the beer because the style is supposed to have some smoke in it, it was finnessed into the beer. the aroma and flavor both have notes of smokiness. the flavor has the smoke accompanied by supporting malts, the hops are not all that apparent though i know they are there. after a bottle of this i might have to go put one of my kilts on.

This beer pours a dark, clear brown color with a small, rapidly dissipating white head. No lacings are left on the glass. Malty, sweet, slightly fruity aroma with just a hint of alcohol. Medium bodied and very smooth, I taste apples up front along with the malts and a sweet finish. I detect no hops in the flavor. A malty and tasty Scotch ale that packs a good alcohol punch.

I’m finding it hard not to give this brew five points all around, becuase this is what I enjoyed while my Green Bay Packes beat the cat ass dome vikings tonight. Really though, this was a very good scottish ale, power, flavor-maybe too much though, but damn good. And the PACKERS won, And the rest of the packers fans will hopefully enjoy many fines brews tonight,

This is a decent Scotch Ale. Not up there with Traquair House, but not that bad of an example.

UPDATED: FEB 23, 2003 smells like apple juice?? cloudy brown color and very apple cinnamon/alcohol taste...not like other scottish ales I've had..very alcoholly in flavor but not as heavy as you'd expect from 8%..the more i drank it the less it tasted like a scottish ale and the more it tasted like fermented apple juice or something....maybe it's a wierd bottle..hard to rate, it tastes good, but scottish ale?

Deep reddish brown color, great head formation. Strong fruity, oily aroma, buttery caramel and a little spice. Palate is smooth, sweet and fruity, with a kiwi-fruit and blackberry jam middle. Some hop bitterness in the finish but never really overwhelms, with wild fruit aftertaste. Alcolol is strikingly noticeable and provides some warmth.

Tap. Deep amber color with a laced off-white head. Fairly light body with a fruity taste.
