3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
Pours a deep ruby with a couple bubbles of tan head. Aromas of cherry, licorice, and alcohol. Bland maltiness rules the tongue, leaving behind a long, sticky finish that tastes like cherries. Big, thick, and sticky. Not bold enough for a scotch ale, but it was far from repulsive.

8th May 2015: in a flight of six at the excellent Brewhouse, San Juan Capistrano, Orange County, Caramel red body with a mild smokiness to the malty nose and flavours. Decent, but didn’t lift my kilt enough to score it uber highly.
