| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 27, 2009 Bottle at Oliver Twist, Stockholm. Pours out in a deep hazy burgundy brown colour with a small crwamy beige foam. A bit dryish peaty and foresty aroma with notes of fudge, caramel, butter and nuts. Medium to full-bodied with notes of burnt caramel, peat, crackers, figs, minerals and mild cocoa. Balnced malty and warming finish, if a bit clean. Notes of caramel and mild peat with hints of resin and nuts. Quite powerful but lacking depth. dollarbill (6), , California, USA does not count | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 16, 2009 Well done, considering how well the ABV is masked. I’m not sure that I would make a habit of this, however... it’s good, but just not what I want from a beer at this point in time. Would it be fair to describe this as a malty session beer with extra alcohol?
I wasn’t careful when I poured it, so there may have been some trub on the bottom of the bottle that got stirred up a little, as it is hazy in my glass. No head to speak of, and the carbonation seems to be less than most store beer I can recall.
Not a bad beer, but I am in a phase where I like more hop flavor. emagana (14), California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 13, 2009 Pours a a dark red hazy. Smells of toffey and syryp sweetness. Starts off with a hint of clover honey and turns into a roasted caramel. i never had this style so i have nothing to compare it too. Lingering alcohol flavor sort off fake and altered by chemical. Not a big fan. I think aging this one on some oak will do it wonders. now i want to go and try more to compare. swoopjones (1933), Buffalo, New York, USA

Okay. Has its moments but lacks overall impact. Pleasant. Cask at Coles, Buffalo
