22oz. Bottle: Aroma is malty. Smells of malts, nuts, toasting, and caramel. Poured orange/amber in color with a tiny, fizzy, tan head that diminished immediately. Clear. Lightly sparkling. Flavor is lightly sweet. Tastes of malts, nuts, dough, bread, brown sugar, herbal hops, caramel, and a hint of chocolate. Medium body. Thin, watery, but dry texture. Average carbonation. Malty finish.

Oct 11, 2008 Deep cloudy copper/amber color with a thin off white head. Very sweet aroma, toffee and caramel taste with a hint of spice. Has a nice rich toasted flavor with a smooth and sweet finish.

Oct 10, 2008 Thin head that rapidly becomes non-existent. Amber (dark) in color. Caramel, toffee, smokey, medium sweetness but finishes with a nice bitterness.

Oct 3, 2008 Served from 22-oz bomber during ABR ’08 in Minneapolis, MN. Pours a semi-hazy copper amber brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissipates to a thin ring. Aroma of caramel malt, a touch of smoked peat, and some toffee. Taste is medium bodied, with flavors of toasted dark malt, toffee, some iced tea and a hint of butter. Finish is semi-sweet with a short lived bitterness that quickly disappears. Nice alcohol warmth too.

Sep 28, 2008 Thin head of fine bubbles. Does not last long. Sweet malty aroma with some caramel, a bit of smoke and some earthy notes. Color is a dark mahagony brown with a hint of red. Slicky malty flavor with some vegetal notes, a bit of spice (nutmeg) and some peaty notes. Not a great scotch ale. Finishes kind of slick and grainy. Weird. Lingering malts and vegetal notes. Not too bad but there are many better.
