Sample at the brewpub under the name "Sommer Kolsch Bier" on 8/8/10. Clear gold pour with a medium white head. Creamy malt nose with not much else going on. Creamy and grainy malt flavor with a bit of fruit in the finish.

Draft at Churchkey. Golden color, edge head. Aroma of orange peel and malt. Taste has a malty start, sourdough bread finish. OK.

Poured slightly pink. Aroma of pale malts and bread. Taste has pale and caramel malts with butterscotch. Different than most kolsch beers, but still decent.

Pours a bright gold color with a thin white head. It’s a touch darker than a traditional kolsch. The aroma is fruity with mostly bananas and berries. A touch of lacto maybe. The flavor is the same with some cardboard and a very bready finish. None of the lagery sulphur that you get from a real kolsch, but a pleasant beer nonetheless.
