COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our Moylander Double IPA is fat and resiny, with aggressive and excessive hops swinging on an enormous malt backbone like naughty monkeys on a vine. Double malt, double hops - do the math, it's academic.

Nice hoppy bouquet, citrus, mango, pine, decent caramalt backbone, dry hoppy finish. Solid IIPA, but found the muscat version a tad smoother.

Served on cask at Al’s of Hampden into a nonic pint.

A - Pours a clear dark copper color with a thin white head that leaves a very faint lacing down the glass.

S - Strong tropical fruit aroma with hints of mango, lemon, and other citrus fruits. A slightly sweet smell from the malt is a welcome addition to the strong hop presence.

T - Based on the smell I thought this was going to be a hop bomb, that was not the case. The malt, while hiding slightly behind the strong hop presence in the nose, offers tons of sweet malt flavors that overpower the somewhat subdued hop presence. The hops are there, just not as much as you would expect.

M - The body is medium-light with the flavor being a little on the heavy side. Fairly good carbonation that fades over time. The malt flavors linger on the pallet for some time afterwards.

D - The nose was much better than the taste. While I enjoyed the opportunity to try this one I just feel that it could have been better, especially for $7 a glass.

Double IPA indeed. Extremely hoppy, but with a very nice taste. Not one you would drink several of, but one is recommended.

On tap in Durham. Pours amber dark malty colour, with long lasting head. Intensive aroma of hoppes selection with citrus fruits, very well balanced, rich but not heavy with undesturbing bitternes. Great beer double IPA!

On tap at le saint bock in montreal. Dark amber/copper pour, with a sticky off white head. Aroma of super sticky pine resins, sweet malts, some caramels, and citrus marmalade. The mouth feel is thick and oily, with a soft carb. The finish is very bitter, loads of pine resins and soft citrus notes, with a solid amount of bready, sweet boozy malts. This is an old school american double ipa. Great stuff.

Transfer from BA review on 4-23-12 - Served in a 10 oz chalice glass Appearance – Served a golden-copper color with a medium white head. The head fades rather fast to leave a moderate amount of lacing. Smell – The aroma has a nice biscuit base with a strong of grapefruit and s more earthy hop aromas. There are bits of pine as well as a light tropical fruit aroma mixed in, but quite light in comparison to the other aromas. Taste – The taste matches the aroma quite well. In the beginning there is a big bready flavor with a strong presence of some more citrus (lemon and grapefruit) hop flavors. There is a light tropical fruit flavor that is present up front, but this fades quite fast. The breadiness stays throughout the taste, but the hop flavors transition. Toward the middle the citrus in the beginning loses some ground to an earthy and pine hop flavors. As the taste advances even further, the hops switch again in character and bitter the taste quite a bit at the end with a great deal of grapefruit hop flavor. Mouthfeel – A slightly above average body with a very average level of carbonation. Overall – A decent double although nothing to really go out of your way for. If looking for a nice bitter taste that lingers in the mouth then this is for you. It was worth the try, but is not something I would go to again and again.
