2.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
To be honest, I really think I had a bad bottle of this. It poured a dark cloudy orange with yeast in the glass and a thin white head. The flavor was a bit acidic and the hops made a stale taste in the mouth. I will have to re-rate this when I am provided with a fresher sample.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a rich copper with a thick white head. Bold assertive hoppy and caramel malty aroma. Body starts sweet and very hoppy with nice balance and a powerfully bitter, semi-dry finish. A little too bitter, but a nice double IPA.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Pours a pleasing Copper color, very similar to Lagunitas Kronic, but with a big creamy, off-white head, that dissipates with some excellent lacing. Aroma is resiny, pine hoppy and grapefruit, with a pleasing bite. Flavor is initially sweet, with a big hoppy presence, finishing piney and oh so bitter (Yeah!!) with a warming hint of alcohol. This is a big IPA; not my favorite, but complex and tastey, with a bitter aftertaste that lingers pleasantly. Very nice offering from Moylans!

Huge thanks to Kinz for this one! Pours a copper body with a tall foamy tan head. Nose is generous amounts of hops and citrus fruits. Strong hop taste. Orange peel, grapefruit, lime, etc. along with very light malts. Dominant hops character. Definite hoppy and bitter nouthfeel and finish. Strong bitterness during the finish as well. Pure hops in this one. Recommended for hop heads.

UPDATED: FEB 6, 2005 Fantastic double IPA. Action packed hops! It manages to maintain a nice malt backbone. Even under all the hoppy heft. Hearty and dignified. Try this one.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours thick with an off-white head, mild lacing. Liquid is copper orange color with sentiment (yeast?) fair amount of CO2. Nose is fruity malts and piney hops. Initial flavor is fruity malts, fades to bitter-sweet hops, and finishes with fruit tones and hops, excellent. Very similar taste to Arrogant Bastard without the resin and more hops. Overall, excellent offering form Moyland's.

Very good double IPA, very crisp, smooth & drinkable, dark amber in color with a nice bubbly off-white head, some lacing of the head around the glass, aroma full of hops & pine, medium in body, the balance was a bit off, too much malt for me, the hops should have been given a better chance to really come out and smack you around, the hops did that to a point but it could have been better, nice dry & spicy flavors with notes of earth, caramel & pine, dry & spicy finish as well, overall a pretty good double IPA
