22oz bottles: This was probably one of the greatest smelling beers I’ve ever had the pleasure of experiencing. It was subtle sweet and earthy. It had the great grassy hoppy waves and the sweet fruity malt whiffs. I smelled apples and caramel and great floral notes. The flavor kept the momentum moving and capitalized on everything the aroma brought. A smooth textured mouthfeel and medium full body coupled with a malty richness making this beer incredibly drinkable. There was a nice understated bitterness to balance the wonderful malty richness. Wow! This is an outstanding beer. I didn’t think I would ever find a better Double IPA than Hercules but this Moylans offering definitely fits the bill.

Dec 3, 2008 Bomber. Poured a murky orange amber. This has a super piny and grapefruit nose. Sort of a light front, a huge middle, and a great bitter finish. I noticed some interesting spice notes that kind of distinguish this from just the hopslam imperial IPA crowd. Very good, and would have this again, in fact I have,

Nov 29, 2008 Pour is a cloudy orange with no head. Aroma is piney/citrus hops. Flavor is again piney/citrus hops with a low malt profile. Alcohol is no problem and the finish is smooth and easy going down. Decent but not mind blowing for this style.

does not count  Nov 27, 2008 Typical west coast 2IPA. A big hop nose wonderfully aromatic with tones of floral/citrusy hops. A well supported malt backbone. A good mouthfeel overall. A beer worthy of its style.

Nov 20, 2008 I guess i have gotten used to big hps. This one falls a little short. Its good but go for the triples.

Nov 19, 2008 Bomber. Pours a nice orange with a fluffy, off-white head that laces a bit. Aromas are grapefruit & pineapple, with a bit of sugary sweetness underneath. Flavor is a great take on the double IPA… not overpoweringly sweet or alcoholic or unbalanced towards a hops explosion. There are plenty of citrus/pine hops to go around, but the sweetness from the malt keeps them in check and things only go a bit awry in the late aftertaste which seems to have a decidedly bitter grapefruit peel taste on every other sip or so. Still, this is very drinkable.
