Draft from a cask. Pours golden amber with a medium-sized white head. Aroma is citrus and pine with a bit of malty sweetness. Flavor is grapefruit pith, resinous pine, lots of earthiness, plus some sweet, somewhat bready malt. Long, bitter finish. Palate is a little oily, a bit astringent.

Tap. Solid ipa. Nothing too over the top. Typical citrus hops with a sweet malt backing. Nice

22 ounce bottle - $5.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia.

Appearance: Pours out a hazy, orange-golden body with a two-finger-high stand of whitish froth.

Smell: Citric-scented and smelling of sap-glazed pine needles, with lighter, lesser underlying notes of malt and yeast.

Taste: Starts biscuity, follows with a touch of crisp grains. Small amount of short-lived, honeyish sweetness. Full of pithy grapefruit, lightly grassy, and with a coating of resin. The bitterness is big and rather insistent of staying around. Once the hops hit the tongue, it’s well past the slow, bitter, pithy finish when they finally fade off.

Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. A bit of oiliness rolling over the tongue.

Overall: It’s fine, it’s nice enough for a try, though, all in all, I’d have been happier with just a bomber of their standard IPA.

UPDATED: JUL 25, 2011 $5 bomber of bam! Hazy straw. My nose is stuffy but piney & citrus rind. Such a wide & bittering sonofa. for the relatively average abv. Damn near perfect. Will buy more.

Bouteille 22oz.

Bomber poured a clear tarnished gold with a lasting off white head. Aromas of biscuit, earthiness, pine, grapefruit and light skunk bud. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of biscuit, earthiness, pine and grapefruit with a crisp dry lingering bitter finish.

Tap at Churchkey. Pours a clear orange with a rocky creme head. Nose is pretty much all cheesy hops, strawberry, red fruits. Taste is mediocre unfresh IPA- cheesy hops, strawberry, sugar. Not too exciting.
