Aroma of malt, caramel, lots of pine, floral notes, tropical fruits, hops. Flavour is light sweet with a nicely long bitter finish. Really nice piney IPA.

Sample at Nordic Brew 2014, Fredrikshavn, Denmark. Clear pale golden beer with a small offwhite head. Hoppy caramel aroma, grassy, hay, herbal notes. Hoppy herbal flavor, grassy hay noyes. Probably not very fresh.

Definitely an X-wing of IPA’s as it has it in all the right places. Pours a clear amber with a frothy head. Aroma is of pine, citrus, mango, floral hops, and green tea. Tastes of pine, citrus, caramel, tropical fruits, and biscuits. Has a medium body with average carbonation and low bitterness. Has a very nice balance of hops to malt ratio.

UPDATED: JAN 22, 2015 Pours hazy deep gold with a fat finger of medium tan head diminishing gradually to a thin skim, decent lacing. (3/5) Nose is caramel and toffee malt, mango and tropical fruit, some pine resin. (7/10) Taste is moderate sweet, moderately strong bitter. (7/10) Medium body, moderate to low carbonation, lingering building bitter finish. (4/5) I dunno about Moylan’s. I keep trying to find fresher ones because I’m convinced that the hops taste faded, but I don’t seem to be having much success. This is yet another one that seems like it should be brighter than it is, but it’s got a toffee flavour I associate with staleness, and a malt-forward character. It’s not bad as it is, but I keep thinking it should be better. I think I might have to give up on them unless I can find it on tap somewhere or unless they, ohhh… I dunno… PUT A DAMN DATE ON THE BOTTLE. (15/20)

Shared bottle at Mi2 at Cardinal 27.10.14. Muddy and greyish pale yellow. Small, white head. Aroma of citrus zest, citrus marmelade and sucate. More citrus sourness in taste, as well as lemon grass and white grapes. Evident citrus bitterness in aftertaste.

Shared bottle at "Mandag i annen", Cardinal. Pours hazy dark golden with thin head. Hops aroma, pine needles, liquorice. Heavy hops taste, bitter, zesty; some rest sweetness.

sample from bottle at 2014 houston big brew fest. Amber with small head. I feel like I’ve had this same IPA 100 times. It’s quite decent, but boring. Medium malt, big citrus hops.

A super solid IPA, CalifornIPA knows how to brew ’em. Hazy dark amber frothing with an ivory hat. Notes of white grapefruit, honey, cereal, some floral business and caramel hints grace the nostrils. Taste-wise I found this to be a but heavy on the bitter citrus side of things and not malty enough. Still super fun, just not head over heels. Very refreshing indeed, the look and chewy feel of this beer are spot on and were it a bit more balanced with malts it could be a contender for my top IPA spot.

Beautiful glowing body and solid head. Rich aroma, carefully balancing amber and sweet malts with modern hops. Intoxicating aroma, very pleasant. String bitterness, juicy, delicious! I drank this (luckily large) bottle in no time. And still wanted more. True American style ipa for all the right reasons. (Bomber from Saveur Bière)
