To honor our World Champions at the Cove, we have created a smooth, American black ale brewed with orange zest. A hearty brew for the bleacher bums, gardeners of turf, and patient fans who have endured 54 years of pine-grabbing torture. An adult beverage to salute the bat, the Stick, the rally thong., the crab, the seal, the chickens, the Thrill, the bowties in the office, the golden voices in the booth, and all of the San Francisco legends that helped them get there. We at Moylan’s never stopped believing and we plan to bust this rookie out on opening day for the Ortange and black faithful. WARNING: Do not fear this beer for it will freakishly offer two Cy’s of relief without putting any hair on your face. ARE YOU READY? WELL THEN GRAB A BEER, MEAT!

Tasting at Papsø’s
Hazy red-brown color. The aroma turns out to be soapy, artificial, feet, almost infected, a bit dusty. Weak body, with some roasted malt and caramel flavor, but also a light sourness that links more to a light infection than to the oranges; low bitterness.
Not very pleasant.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of maneliquor. Pours a clear orangey brown with a creamy beige head leaving some lacework. Slightly tart orange aroma. Medium body, an initial discreet roast and then the orange zest that could be mistaken for an infection. No real hop character. 160612

Thanks to ericandersnavy for sharing this bottle. The beer pours a dark brown color with a white head. The aroma is full of chocolate and roasted malt, with a hint of cream. I don’t get any of the orange zest in the aroma, but it comes through up front in the flavor. It is joined by some cream and roasted malt and chocolate. Even with all of this, something just doesn’t work with this beer and I didn’t really care for it. Medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation.

22oz bottle gushes then settles into a watery, translucent deep brown with some foamy white head. Nose is weird, malty, brown bread, some light citrus. Flavor is the same, something is not quite right, chocolate, some bitterness. Medium bodied.
