To honor our World Champions at the Cove, we have created a smooth, American black ale brewed with orange zest. A hearty brew for the bleacher bums, gardeners of turf, and patient fans who have endured 54 years of pine-grabbing torture. An adult beverage to salute the bat, the Stick, the rally thong., the crab, the seal, the chickens, the Thrill, the bowties in the office, the golden voices in the booth, and all of the San Francisco legends that helped them get there. We at Moylan’s never stopped believing and we plan to bust this rookie out on opening day for the Ortange and black faithful. WARNING: Do not fear this beer for it will freakishly offer two Cy’s of relief without putting any hair on your face. ARE YOU READY? WELL THEN GRAB A BEER, MEAT!

hazy chestnut, thinnest white ring. Prune and date, paper bitterness, bit of celery. Flavor of light date, watery, light leaf, bubblegum esters. Not my thing.

Pours black with brown highlights and a small, off-white head. Nose shows cocoa and chocolate with little else noticeable, although some roasted coffee is present later. Citrus is barely noticeable. Flavours mainly focus on plain roasted malt, with some very faint coffee in the background. Again, very little citrus. Body feels a bit watery. Seems like a schwarzbier.

Draft at Dexters. Deep red hued brown-black. Steady beige head. Really odd artificial orange aroma. Orange liqueur w/o the harsh alcohol. Orange-chocolate tones dominate, like a bad Shorts beer. Cake-like, desserty, not unlike a Milano cookie. Thin, watery mouthfeel. Quite unimpressive. Milano all the way.

651mL thanks to nimbleprop. GUSHER. Pours a hazy, deep brown with yeast chunkies. Towering, over carbonated gray head. Nose is floral and soapy with oxidized red apples. Taste is mildly roasty, minerally, tangy with soft infected characters. Drained of body. Ends up being lightly tangy and citric with mild roast in the background. Fairly bland.

Bottle shared by nimbleprop. Pours clear brown with a medium, creamy off-white head, medium retention with good lacing. Aroma is chocolate and light orange, cookie and toast malt, light earthy hops and spices. Flavor is malt dominant with light orange, light hops and bitterness with a dry finish. Medium body and carbonation, low warmth.

Looks really nice. And is pretty good. The orange is noticeable, a bit like a chocolate-orange slice. Different.

22oz bottle thanks to ericandersnavy. Near black pour, thick tan head. Aromas of ripe orange, dreamsicle, chocolate and roast. Tastes like a creamsicle as well - creamy with tons of orange.

Arizona Strong Beer Festival. It has orange (orange peel specifically). And its black. So the deScription is accurate. Interesting, but still kinda weak.
