To honor our World Champions at the Cove, we have created a smooth, American black ale brewed with orange zest. A hearty brew for the bleacher bums, gardeners of turf, and patient fans who have endured 54 years of pine-grabbing torture. An adult beverage to salute the bat, the Stick, the rally thong., the crab, the seal, the chickens, the Thrill, the bowties in the office, the golden voices in the booth, and all of the San Francisco legends that helped them get there. We at Moylan’s never stopped believing and we plan to bust this rookie out on opening day for the Ortange and black faithful. WARNING: Do not fear this beer for it will freakishly offer two Cy’s of relief without putting any hair on your face. ARE YOU READY? WELL THEN GRAB A BEER, MEAT!

Bottle from Cullen’s Pub. The orange flavor was kind of a mess in this... a lot of rind and acid without a pleasing sweetness. Didn’t like this one.

Bottle shared at the August Level 42 tasting. Thanks to Ken. It pours a clean brown color with a small beige head. Aroma is tangy woody roasty with bitter grass notes and wood. Taste is also tangy woody roasty with wood melon and lemon peel. Medium bodied with good carbonation. Overall, OK

Bottle split at Level 42, thanks to Kenny, 16/08/16. Light black with a decent tan swirl. Nose is cocoa powder, charr, light spice, earthy berry, light orange peel. Taste comprises charr, brown bread, light soap dish, orange peel, light pine. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with earthy hop bitterness. Average, a touch overly soapy.

Bottle care of Kenny. It pours darkest brown - black with a medium beige head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, charred wood, dark chocolate, orange peel, cocoa powder, earth and dirt. The taste is smooth, toasty, earthy roast, charred wood, cocoa, earthy, orange peel and earth with a dry, woody finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. Not a huge amount going on, but easy drinking.

On tap at Cardinal. Pours black with a small creamy off-white head. Aroma of red ripe berries, weak liquorice. Taste is light sweet dark red fruits, cherries, easy drinkable but nothing extra, lack the roasty burnt notes that i like in an BIPA.

On tap @ Mikkeller & Friends. This is a deep and dark brown, not too far off being black one with a nice hefty lacing beige head. Mild nose. I get a little bit of dry roastiness, hints of chocolate. Not much more. It has a mild oily texture and a above average carbonation level. Soft cocoa dry bitterness in the taste, some darkness and a mils wood sourness in the back. Quite nice and non complicated. 16.10.2015
