3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice mild sourness to this beer. Slightly thin on the body though, with the underlying beer not being complex enough.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
650 ml. Pours mahogany with some ruby tints and a thin film of cream. Aroma is Terry’s chocolate-orange ball with darker chocolate and touches of espresso and sourish lactose. Tastes of lightly tart berry, dark chocolate. Turns to a blend of orange zest and malted milk ball at the end. Long finish dries it up well with some light pine, ash and dark roasted bean. The roast and orange peel provide a light astringency and a balance that brings to mind the orange and black of the uniform. Light-medium body has a medium carbonation that flares up a bit, but that seems appropriate in this celebratory tribute brew even if I’m a die-hard Cardinal fan.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Orange is barely noticeable in this below average black. As great a combination as these two flavors have the potential to be, Moylan’s needs to return to the drawing board.
