Commercial Description:
Chocolate truffles, cocoa, espresso coffee, burnt currants, the sweetness of a sherry - all come to mind when enjoying an Imperial Stout. A rich porter of English origin brewed to withstand the long voyage from London to Czarist Russia. The classic "Winter Warmer". Big, Strong, Malty Stout.

Beautiful brown head bobbing atop a black brew. Strong alcohol scents in the nose as well as some chocolate and bitter cocoa. Very sweet on the tongue like chocolate coverd cherries. Slight coffee bitterness toward the end but the chocolate cherry flavor dominates. This beer is beautiful.

Black with beige head.Roast in aroma. Coffee but not only that, creamy mouthfeel, richness. Vanilla, cocoa. Even after warmed, not supper complex, but still nutty, boozy.Dry sweetish finish.Sweetness for drinkability, would lie the perfect to be bitter. Nice RIS.

Pours dark black with thick tan head. Aroma is chocolatey with notes of coffee. Flavor is truffles, dark chocolates, dark fruits, and roastiness. A tad thin for an imperial stout, but the alcohol is not noticeable at all. Very good, especially when you consider the price

Black with lasting brown head and lace. Bitter dark roasted chocolate earthy woodsy aroma with a hint of baseball glove and soapiness. Deep roasted bitter dark chocolate and espresso with dark fruit and roasty bitter finish. Full body nice mouthfeel, medium carbo. Rich, roasty and complex. Excellent.

22 oz. Black pour with brown around the edges. Scant tan head. Rated this a bit cold... Coffee, vanilla, wood and earth (I’ve been using those two words a lot lately...). Bitter chocolate and fresh hoppy quality. Well balanced flavor, dry chalky finish. Acrid smokiness, but not off putting. Bitter almonds and walnuts with a chewy fatty component. Oily on the palate, tons of small bubbles.

Pours ebony balck with huge brown head. Aroma is bootstrap molasses, chocolate, and malt. Mouthfeel is rich thick and creamy. Taste is intense with chocolate, coffee, sherry, molasses, toffee and dark roasted malts assaulting the tastebuds. Finish is well balanced, not bitter, not too sweet. Packs a punch at 10% ABV. Great pairing with red meats including beef, lamb, venison or gyros. Also could be a meal in itself. Hats off to Moylans, you have created a masterpiece of the brewing arts.
