4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Medium black color, thin tan head. Malty hoppy aroma. Chocolate spice flavor. A great tasting beer and I'm sure one of Moylans best.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
NIce chocolate aroma, with a tad bit of the alcohol snaeking through. The color is nice and black, but nothign special for the head. Flavor is smooth throughout, which is nice. The flavor does give a nice feel of the roasted currants in an oily mouthfeel.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours muddy brown with a tan head. Smells almost like a home brew. Caramel and yeast. Alcohol is noticeable on the nose. Tastes like a "double brown" (yeah I made that up, actually my brother did). Subdued coffee flavors along with other somewhat odd flavors. Alcohol is very noticeable. Thick chewy body that coats the teeth. A bit of a disapointment.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Mmmm...stout. Pours dark brown (not as dark as some Imperials) with a thin tan head clinging to the sides of the glass. Chocolate, coffee, and alcohol in the aroma. Flavor is a rich medley of coffee, chocolate, hints of dark fruit, and hints of barleywine-like bread/cookies. Smooth and silky mouthfeel. The beer is thick, but not over-the-top. A hint of alcohol warmth in the aftertaste. A well-crafted, exquisite version of my favorite style.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice stout, nothing great but good. This beer was enjoyable however it lacked that real chewy maltiness I love in Imperial Stouts. Try Stone's imperial then this and you will see what I mean.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Light in color for an imperial stout. The body was on par - nice and full. Aroma reminds me of chocolate chip cookies - brown sugar/molasses, bread, chocolate extract, fresh malts (dusty/earthy). Sweet wit a roasty finish. Very little burnt flavors or bitterness on this one. Good stout.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
bublegumy chocolate aroma with hearty hints of vanilla and coffee. Massive stout. Straight up black in color with an above average head. Easy going chocolate with some fruity alcohol, coffee comes waaay late, beautifuly sculpted body

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Aroma of sweet roasted malts and a subtle hoppiness floats above the oily black body with little to no head. Body is thick, sweet and satisfying. Plenty of good complex malts and a hint of coffee are well balanced with a flavorful bitterness. A very good imperial stout, and another one that hides its alcohol masterfully.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
UPDATED: OCT 10, 2013 Black. Difficult to get a head on this one. Big robust nose of chocolate, smoke, and plum. Semi-sweet syrupy taste initialy, with an even smokey flavor throughout. Quite thick, but avoids resembling molasses.
