COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Chocolate truffles, cocoa, espresso coffee, burnt currants, the sweetness of a sherry - all come to mind when enjoying an Imperial Stout. A rich porter of English origin brewed to withstand the long voyage from London to Czarist Russia. The classic "Winter Warmer". Big, Strong, Malty Stout.

Uma Stout de respeito, apesar do teor alcóolico elevado, é bastante equilibrada, seu tom de chocolate esta de acordo com seu aroma defumado, perfeita para acompanhar um charuto ou cachimbo.

Chocolate nose, slight coffee, thick, opaque black, whiteish head, strong coffee notes, thick pallet, heavy mouth feel. Amazing beer, I like this more than the Stone Russian Imperial.

What a beer....perfect in almost every aspect, but it was a bit light in flavor. Pours a beautiful dark dark brown with a small head when poured quickly. Amazing that it is 10%. Wow! I was more than impressed with this beer. I will buy more of this in the future and re-rate it.

Bottle 750ml from Grain&Grape. Masterpiece, great imperial stout. Aromas of caramel, chocolate, vanilla, with hints of liquorice and alcohol. Taste is sweet and bitter, with long length. Palate is syrupy, and full bodied. Black, with a thin head.

Thanks to Dickinsonbeer for this beauty. The pour is onyx with a 2-finger brown head and layers of lace. The aroma is big roasty dark malt, figs, huge chocolate cyrup, some molasses, and hops. The taste is roasty dark malty, with a rich, sticky chocolate syrup element, plus molasses, figs, slight tobacco, and a hop bite that is definitely felt, and gets a bit bigger as it warms. The palate is rich, very creamy, very well balanced, on the sweet side initially, then it seems to shift gears and gain an Alpha Klausy hoppiness, while still maintaining the solid Impy Stout feel overall. This one is an outstanding example of this style.

Pours ebony balck with huge brown head. Aroma is bootstrap molasses, chocolate, and malt. Mouthfeel is rich thick and creamy. Taste is intense with chocolate, coffee, sherry, molasses, toffee and dark roasted malts assaulting the tastebuds. Finish is well balanced, not bitter, not too sweet. Packs a punch at 10% ABV. Great pairing with red meats including beef, lamb, venison or gyros. Also could be a meal in itself. Hats off to Moylans, you have created a masterpiece of the brewing arts.

A roasted malt taste explosion, supported with coffee, chocolate, grapes, sourness and a heap of bitterness. Delicious, with a beautiful opaque body and thick, long lasting tan head. Really great, as usual, from Moylan.

UPDATED: JAN 30, 2003 Now this, this my friend is a kick ass beer. In the 20+ bottles I lugged back to the hotel in a cab, this and Stone's 6th Anniversary Porter will be hard to beat. Pours a lovely black color with mahogany around the edges. Thin and bubbly tan head. Espresso and charred chocolate aroma. Flavor of chocolate, caramel, raisins, sweet liqueur, and surprisingly little alcohol. Perfect warming finish as far as I am concerned, as I had absolutely no problem polishing off this bomber in no time. Also worth noting that this beer has about the busiest label I have ever seen. Among the description, awards, etc., there is even a map to the brewery! This beer is underrated in my opinion.

"I was very suprised at the quality of this stout. The pour is dark, but not jet black like a lot of Imperials. The aroma is very nice--hints of chocolate and fruitiness. The flavors are chocolately at first, which gives way to a sweet candy-like finish. The bottle says "sherry flavors", and I would tend to agree with that. The mouthfeel is creamy and smooth. A very impressive stout in my opinion. The Moylan’s products are quickly becoming some of my favorites."

Roasty in aroma. Looks great, though a small amount of head. Flavor is strong, hoppy, with some roastiness and creaminess. Overall, very agressive and tasty.
