On tap at Taphouse CPH. Black with a dense espresso coloured head that rests down to a thin film. Aroma has coca cola, lots of sweetness going on, bourbon notes and chocolate pudding. Taste has dark chocolate, loads of bitterness, a bit hot alcohol, roasted, faint bourbon, slight sweetness. Medium body, high carbonation, dry mouth feel.
Too much bitterness and carbonation in combination with being quite thin marks this down a few notches.

Pours the part with an activly wild khaki head. Oak and chocolate nose. Taste has light chocolate, very faint bourbony smoke. Pretty underwhelming on many levels. Medium body.

Having the 2014 batch. Black pour from 22oz bottle at home. Smokey Carmel and sweet taste. Not getting much whiskey. Rather underwhelming after thinking I was holding a gem for a year.

22oz bottle pours a dark brown color with a lot of frothy head. Intense harsh whiskey flavor that overpowers everything. It smooths with some time to breath.

What the hell?! Just like with Pinchy Jeek, it looks like I’m the first to buy a messed up bottle. This hot mess did not resemble an imperial stout (and I really like the base beer) or a halfway decent whiskey BA beer. Aroma and flavor are nearly offensively astringent. Tastes and smells infected...more like a wine BA beer gone bad than a bourbon or whiskey BA stout. That distracts and ultimately completely covers up any roast or chocolate notes in this beer. So sad that I spent nearly $15 on this. It was crap. None of the 4 of us came close to finishing.

On tap at 28 Springs thanks to Casey! Pours jet black with a big frothy brown head. Aroma is bourbon oak and roasty chocolate. Flavor follows with also some earthy notes. Very bitter. Creamy mouthfeel. Really nice beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle pours black with huge root beer float type head. Goes downhill from there with roast acidic aroma with a touch of plastic. Taste moderately bitter roast malts with oak. Palate on the thin side. Didn’t get much bourbon or sweetness. Wouldn’t buy again.

Bottle (2013 Bourbon Barrel Aged 6 months) poured into a Belgian snifter. Pours a dark brownish black with two fingers of frothy tan head. Head fades slowly and leaves nice lacing. Big bourbon/whiskey on the nose with vanilla, dark fruit, oak. On the taste, big bourbon/whiskey again along with dark chocolate, toffee, oak. Bourbon/whiskey notes pretty much dominate. Around a medium body, seems a bit thin for an imperial stout. Dry and warm boozy finish.

On tap at Beachwood bbq Seal Beach poured into snifter. Appearance is nearly opaque black with a finger of tan head and patchy lacing. Aroma is booze, chocolate, vanilla, oak. Flavors are similar with lots of sweetness and a touch of roasty malt. Medium-full bodied, thick, chewy, slick texture; long sweet, hot finish, low carbonation.
