Davinci (258), Chicago, Illinois, USA May 29, 2008 pale caramel pour, nice creamy white head. Mild citrus aroma with a good malty component and an almost vanilla note. Mild pine and citrus flavors with some bread crust oin the finish, another hint of that vanilla from the nose. Medium body with a creamy carbonation. Thi8s should come in tall boy cans. Very refreshing after a long hot bike ride through the city at night.
Ernest (4217), Boulder, Colorado, USA Aug 27, 2008 Bottle.
Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing.
Body is hazy medium amber, unfiltered.
Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (caramel, cereal), lightly to moderately hoppy (resin, apricot), with notes of celery and diacetyl.
Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter, slightly unclean, slightly husky.
Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation.
A rather crude and sadly flawed beer...raw cereal-like malts, vegetal, plenty of diacetyl, grainy, poor aftertaste, light and watery. Had to abandon this one to the more forgiving drain. thejoeshow (106), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA Aug 26, 2008 22oz bottle. Pours a nice rich golden color with a slightly off white head that has great retention and decent lacing. Aroma is a very nice hoppy scent in the front and is followed by a yeasty/bread aroma that complement each other very nicely. Flavor mimics the aroma. There is a nice hop bitterness that hits your tongue right away and is then followed by a yeasty/bread flavor to close everything off. The body is very nice and there is just the right amount of maltiness to support the other parts. Very nice beer, make me want to give it a shot on tap. moelikebeer (122), New Brighton, Minnesota, USA Aug 26, 2008 Bottle. Clear, dark golden pour with a medium head that faded quickly. Strong aroma of herbal hops. Flavor dominated by herbal hops with some maltiness. badgerben (3070), Blaine, Minnesota, USA Aug 22, 2008 Copper color with a medium head. Slightly buttery. Cardboard, hops, citrus aroma. Bone dry right at the first sip. Grainy and almost nutty taste. Not the usual APA. EHopper (118), Minnesota, USA Aug 22, 2008 Tasted while on Vacation in CA. This brew had a great, fresh hoppy, citrus aroma but a lackluster flavor that simply did not match. Finished with a good bitter.
