Listed as Barrel Aged Hopsickle at brewpub. Few signs of barrel aging. Mostly tastes like aged Hopsickle. DIPA flavors drifting a bit. Strong alcohol kick.

Clear golden orange with no head. Sweet wine and citrus hops aroma and taste with a nice crisp dry finish with some notes of oak. Very good overall.

FoBAB 2009. This poured a slightly hazed light gold body with a small white head. This showed few effects of being in a barrel. The aroma was full of fresh citrusy hops with a touch of resin. The taste had a light caramel sweetness at its base but all about the hops in both flavor and bitterness. The finish was a solid, lingering dry bitterness. Very nice indeed.

On cask @ the brewery. Poured a hazy light brown. Nose was vegetal, pine and citrus hops, slight wood and alcohol. Flavor was oak, wines, veggies, sour grapes, some vanilla, sharp hop bitterness and sour fruits. Finished dry and slightly vinous.

2008 vintage on cask at the brewery. Caramel color; toffee-caramel nose. Sweet malt and a full palate. Iced tea and medium hops taste. I liked this with the oak -- seems to have made it better on the palate.

On cask @ brewery, 2008 edition. Honey body, lightly hazy, no head. Big hop nose, very floral, fruity hop profile, sweet. Full body with light carbonation. Flavor of sugar, light honey, lots of peach, some pine and grapefruit rind. Best beer I had on my trip to northern Cal. Big improvement over regular hopsickle (harsh astringency is gone). This is balanced, rich, fruity, and very easy to drink.

sampled at FOBAB 2008... cloudy hazy apple cider brown pour with a non-existent head... light tropical fruit aroma with sweet woody notes... light citrus hops flavors and more of the woody vanilla accents. somewhat thin mouthfeel and soft carbonation.
