Clear golden pour, with a frothy, lasting ring of foam - nose of toasted grains, orange zest, ginger, pale malt sweetness - medium sweet, with notes of honey, but becomes dry and crackery through the middle, as well as lightly bitter - some gingerbread, perhaps faint cinnamon that hits the tongue and disappears before you even realize what it is - the spices are there, but they are subdued, muddled, hard to make out - a light bit of warmth, which I believe is the white pepper - it’s decent, but I would like a higher spice profile, and a bigger white pepper kick to make things interesting.

Appearance was clear yellowish gold with rocky white huge lasting 3 finger head, rings of lacing. Aromas are spicey, sweet pale malt, lager yeasts yet mild and citrus hops, no alcohol present. Taste are slight sweet of malts, then subtle lemon hops, spices of cinnamon, ginger like, yeasts are sublime do to spices. Palate was smooth creamy CO2 with medium body, lasting spicey citrusy lager type finish. I enjoy the spices and yeast playing off each other.

Surprisingly golden color with a noticable lager-ish aroma (which isn’t overbearing). Nice lacing down my glass as this thing boasts a creamy taste. Spices are evident, much more so as the brew adjusts to room temp. I enjoy the slight pepperiness in the background. Definitely an interesting holiday brewski.

Bottle. Pours a mostly clear darker golden color with a moderate white head. Nose is slightly spicy with some clove/nutmeg in there. Taste is remarkably light and easy with just a hint of spices.

Pours pale yellow with golden hues and a decent white head. Nose is corn sugar, corn husks, grass and skunk. The taste is sweet, with a small bitter hit toward the end. Has some metallic properties. The mouthfeel is crisp and clean, body is light and finish is long.

A-- Poured a darker amber straw color. Pretty straightforward. Half finger of bright white head that went almost straight to film. Wants to be a collar but just a little more than that. Lots of small carbonation bubbles and not a lot of anything else. S-- Some malt sweetness and then orange and cinnamon. Rather faint and fleeting smells. T-- More of the above, add in some spicy citrus hops and the added bonus of white pepper. Good touch and like that. Too bad also very fleeting. The citrus hops end up dominating the taste. M-- Light bodied and medium carbonation. Dry orange and cinnamon finish. That works. Slightly syrupy at times but works well with the spices showing back up. O-- Better in the feel than in the nose and taste. Well hidden alcohol ut a little all over the place I thought.

bottle at Dash In (Feb 24, 2012) - Pours hazy orange-brown and smells of caramel, malt, and spice. It’s very sweet with the same caramel and spice characster and a touch of alcohol plus some mild hops in the finish and a medium body. This brew was overly sweet, in my opinion, but alright.

22 ounce bottle into lager glass, no bottle dating. Pours slightly hazy golden straw color with a 1 finger fairly dense white head with good retention that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Some spotty lacing on the glass, with plenty of carbonation streaming up. Aromas of orange zest, plum, lemon, pepper, clove, cinnamon, toasted malt, biscuit, coriander, and herbal spiciness. Some decent aromas, but they give off a bit of a stale vibe. Taste of orange zest, lemon, plum, pepper, clove, biscuit, toasted malt, coriander, and light herbal spiciness. Lingering notes of citrus peel, plum, pepper, clove, biscuit, and herbal spices on the finish for a good bit. It has some nice flavor balance: spicing is not too overpowering, and the sweetness is not cloying at all. Medium carbonation and body; with a slightly creamy and slick mouthfeel. Very smooth to drink. Alcohol is well hidden with only a very slight warming after the finish. Overall this is actually quite nice and enjoyable for a spiced beer. Nice flavor balance and not cloying with sweetness or spices.
