presario (2501), Calgary, Alberta, Canada May 11, 2008 It is Red Amber Ale. Mt. Begbie is contract brewing this beer. It is being marketed by someone else who was at the booth at BeerFest. Someone may have said that it was only going to be sold in Alberta starting in May. Clean looking yellow beer. Good head. Pretty basic but a nice grassy note in the finish.
DuffMan (2139), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Apr 26, 2008 Calgary Beerfest 2008. I’ve never heard of this before, but there it was on tap beside the cream ale. It may actually have been called "Red Autumn Ale", but I’m not certain. Anyway, it wasn’t red at all-- bright golden yellow. Grainy, faintly floral aroma, lagery palate with a crisp finish. Pretty average. If they made this especially for the beerfest (and I’m not saying they did), you’d think they’d put a little more flare into it. And why "Autumn" when it’s spring?
