probstk (695), Nepean, Ontario, Canada Jun 9, 2008 650 ml bottle from Sherbrooke Liquor (Edmonton), served cool in a wine glass. JN 09/08.
App.: Clear golden with remnants of a white head.
Aroma: Apricots, grains and cereal, some light caramel and golden syrup, other vague fruitiness, smells sweet.
Palate: Medium+ body, moderate effervescence.
Flav.: Much like the nose – apricots, non-descript fruits, light caramel and golden syrup, sweet flavours without a really sweet taste; off-dry to semi-sweet, not even a hint of bitterness, leaves a touch of floral honey.
Boring.
oakbluff (226), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada Jan 27, 2008 Bomber courtesy of CBA. Pours out highly filtered golden colour with minor head and lacing. Nose- honey sweetness and cooked vegetables. Taste- smooth, a little nutty and the creaminess of the mouthfeel is very much there. Metallic finish and that cooked vegetable again. Drinkability is high- good session brew. mabel (1673), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Jan 13, 2008 [997-20071223] 650mL (w/ GregClow, jerc). Smells like sheep lanolin or wet wool, skunky wheat and a hint of peas. Clear, orange amber body with a quick foamy off-white head. Sweet honeyed grain flavour. Medium body is grainy and watered down. Not impressive. CapFlu (3340), Victoria, British Columbia, Canada Dec 25, 2007 (650ml bottle) Purchased at the Gorge BCLS for $4.35. Pours a medium, frothy white head with a clear yellow body. Nose is very grainy with a corn malt base. Flavour has some wet wheat and soap water undertones. Its weak and undefinable. I wish they stocked more quality BC-micros on the shelf than this waste-water. GregClow (2351), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Dec 24, 2007 Bottle shared with jerc & mabel - their bottle. Pale gold with no head. Aroma of grainy malt and wet wool, with a faint vegetal quality. Thin body. Watery flavour, with faint sweet and grainy malt and no hops to speak of. Nope, not liking this much at all...
