Coppery-gold color is limpid, head of white fine foam, small. Aroma and tastes bestow both classic noble and citra hops, quite delicious. I actually taste some candy lemon. Softly grassy, but rounded hops. Expect a shocking number of Ontario ratings... and a gushing of appreciation for nods to the American styling. Very good!

650ml bottle from the LCBO. Dark amber pour with a thick head that left great lacing. Nice citrus aroma from the hops. Nice malt body, the hops taking over in the finish. Nice.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
UPDATED: OCT 24, 2010 Bottle.
Pours an amber ale with a puffy cap. Aroma is all PacNW- citrus, floral fruity big caramel malting. Rich mouth feel. Big crystal malting meets big Yakama hopping in good balance..some fruits, citrus, earthyness....bittering increases to the clean bitter finish that ends with a tangerine bite.
One of Canada’s best MIcro IPAs....a superior Anchor Liberty clone.

very drinkable beer. It pours a medium yellow with a minimal white head. There is a good C-hop aroma. Middling mouthfeel. A little lace in the glass. It is not over the hop bitterness, but very tasty.

Fantastic, if a bit expensive.
Nice hop blast with a touch of citrus on the nose. The taste is rich and bitter, but the hops are under control. A beautiful tang on the tongue and even in the 650ml bottle, this one disappears quite quickly and smoothly.

Bottled (shared by brunnsbe, thanks!). Amber colour ,medium small slightly off-white head. Aroma is bready malts, some mild hops, mild grassyness as well as some mild fruityness. Flavour is fruits, caramel malts, some mild floral notes and crisp crystal maltyness as well. Actually a quite balanced and pleasant IPA.

Wicked bright citrucy hops aroma. The aroma is right up there with some of the better IPAs. The flavor though was a little odd. There was some nice hops in there. Good citrus, notes, touches of piney resins, but there was next to no bitterness in the finish! It was quite odd, it was a semi sweet finish with zero bitterness. Not sure how they managed to do that!

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Nice hop aroma, the’s not really much else there, but it’s clear without being too much, or too close to an IIPA. Pours with decent head, some lacing, very nice orangy colour. Crisp, brisk and hoppy! Just waht an IPA should be, a touch of sweet malt, % and hops. The yeast comes early and is tempered by the hops wich last long but not too long. There is a definate ending, semms like not too many hop varieties in there. surprisingly, exaclty, accurate IPA. Pretty tasty too.

Bottle. Dark amber with minimal head. Aroma of hops, hops and woody hops. Flavour is woody hops but on some level unsatisfying. Perhaps thin lacking in malt middle and depth. Or maybe I am IPA spoiled.

Bottle. Pours clear amber/orange, thin off-white head, spotty lacing. Nose is grapefruit, lemon, sweet malt, <checks the label> Really? Mt. Begbie? Wow! Good job guys! Okay, back to rating: Upon further inspection this shows solid balance, and the citrus blends into some peachy stonefruit aromas as well. Flavours are spicy, juicy, and well poised, plenty of yellow peach, honey, gentle spice, nice soft pine notes. Not the most in-your-face IPA, but I gotta say, this is an excellent example of the "Gentle IPA" class. Very pretty, and surprisingly recommended. Nice job Mt. Begbie, more like this please!
