Snapshot Series Session Seven: Ardennes is a Belgian Quad style. Medium bodied and pleasant, this is an approachable Quad, with light raison, fig, and date on the palate, along with candy sugar and faint spice.

Draft - nose is plum. Sip adds dark forest fruit, candy, and currant. Not as sweet as the style/ABV would suggest. Slight tart taste. Black cherry aftertaste. I bet this be better with age and/or barrel aged.

Draft sample at festival from notes. Pours a clear reddish brown color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have sweet malts, caramel, dark fruits that favor raisins and dates, Belgian yeast and candi sugar, thin for the style, but otherwise decent.

Great brew. Awesome mouthfeel. A little viscous and carbonated. Notes of caramel and bread. Sweet taste with hardly any hops. Exceeded my expectation from this brewery

Sample at The Daily Growler. Pours a clear bronze-brown color with a medium off-white head that recedes slowly. Patchy lacing on the glass. Aroma of dark fruit, yeast and malt. Medium to full body with flavors of ripe fruit, earthy yeast and a bit of spice and malt. The finish is semi-sweet with a dark fruit aftertaste. Above average all around.

32oz growler, filled less than an hour ago at Dilly Deli. Mostly clear deep red color. Thin khaki head, few dots of lace. Bigger body. Good, smooth, lighter carbonation, more dry in the finish, but there’s a satisfying amount of body to this. Nice light dark fruit, some raisin, red grape, little cranberry, plum... Dark fruit flavors you’d expect from a quad. Some belgian type yeast and sugars. Sweeter taste, but not too sweet, not cloying at all. Alcohol is very well-hidden, no bite or burn, and minimal warmth, even. Lightly spicy, not as spicy as most belgians though.. Subtle spice, in the background of the nicely blended dark fruit flavors. Tasty stuff. Nice to sip on during a chilly Friday evening. Not too "belgian-y"

Draft @ tasting room, pours hazy auburn with quickly-dissipating taupe head, rummy dark fruit aroma with a fair amount of vanilla, rich and fruity with more vanilla throughout, finishes surprisingly dry and clean for a quad, which I enjoyed, very nice

Tap sample at StarkBier Fest. Poured clear brownish color with a large frothy white head that lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate sweet malt and yeast aroma. Medium body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Medium yeast sweet flavor with a medium sweet finish of moderate duration with a small alcohol bite. Interesting good beer.

Draft to taster. Looks solid; a little light for a quad though. A semi-transparent copper with sticky light beige lacing. Smells and tastes solid; dark fruit, toffee, and caramel. Solid on the palate, but a touch thin. Still, solid beer, and easy to drink for a quad.
