Bottle from Lizardville Rocky River. Dark cola pour with a smaller spotty white head. Something in the aroma is a little off-putting to me, but I’m not a huge fan of the style, so that might be part of it. Moderate palate, finishes a bit dry.
3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20 SSSteve (3392) - Atlanta, Georgia, USA - JAN 17, 2013
bottle. lightly sweet brown, nutty, caramel aroma. body is a bit light for the style with a sharp carbonation. flavors of nuts and brown sugar. my favorite of the sampler.
3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 nuplastikk (3353) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - DEC 24, 2012
12oz bottle picked up in Columbus, OH. Filtered ruby red-brown body, thin off-white head. Smooth, mellow brown malt, maple aroma. Medium bodied, pretty much spot on for the style. Clean and balanced. Toffee, dark fruit, caramel chocolate notes, nutty. Nothing mindblowing, middle of the road, but also ideal for a sessionable brown ale. Well done.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 thechandler (529) - Charleston, West Virginia, USA - NOV 6, 2012
Pours a medium-dark amber color. Slightly sweet malty aroma. Flavor is sweet and slightly alcoholic. Decently bitter backbone too. Nicely balanced. Pretty good.
4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 mikemccarthy (87) - Huntington, West Virginia, USA - OCT 9, 2012
Pours a translucent mahogany with a medium, tan head that stays. Aroma is complex and strong of roasted nuts. Taste is deep with a strong hazelnut presence and a balanced finished. Good representative of its class.

2.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 zanaspus (10) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - SEP 28, 2012
Pours a medium brown with a light tan head. Not a lot of retention. The nose is the best part for me providing a deep yeasty, bready aroma. Palate is fairly one dimensional, a bit of malt, a bit of hops that fails to distinguish itself from much of anything. Short finish with a pleasing snap of hop acidity to end it all.
3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 rayy (31) - Ohio, USA - JUL 22, 2012
Dark tan color, just a shade darker than Newkie, 1.5 finger light tan head, settles to 1/4" layer. Aroma malty, brown sugar, maybe a little pepper. Good balance, toasty, malty, a touch of maple, some alcohol. A kiss of hops at the end---maybe English variety or Willamette. Goes well with pizza.

Bottle from the Anderson’s. Pours coca-cola brown with a a quarter inch of khaki foam which leaves a little lacing. A bit syrupy on the nose. Pretty non-descript on the tongue. Not getting much nuttiness or malt.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 b3shine (2460) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 9, 2012
Bottle to taster. Looks decent; brown with nice lacing. A little thin/transparent though. Smells nutty and a little woody (no pun intended). Tastes good; some depth and spice in there with a decent malt presence. Average on the palate. Decent.
