Growler. Dark brown with a nice, creamy, beige head. Nutty, sweet malts, light milk, and some chocolate. very pleasant. easily swig-able body. Malty, light nuts, some toasted biscuits, and little hazel. Not a world-beater, but a solid brown thats pretty refreshing.

Growler, pours nice dark brown with somewhat small tan head. Aroma has a nice nuttiness to complement the roasted sweet aroma of the malts. Flavor has a nice roasted nuttiness to it, and a hit of chocolate. Palate is a little light, watery. Overall a pretty good brown ale, wish it had a little more body which would really make it a great beer.

Growler: Poured with a larger head then most of the Mt. Carmel Brewing family. Aroma is nutty and chocolate. Flavors are a roasted nutty malt. This is not an overly complex brew, but it’s the ideal dark brew to pick up if you’re introducing your buddy into the microbrew world.

Growler. Im not a huge fan of Brown ales, but this one was pretty good. Pours a clear deep ambery brown, with a thin lasting head. Aroma is very nutty, biscuity, toasty and hints of chocolate and light fruity esters as it warms. Flavor has more toast and nuts, with a sharp roast or chocolate malt character and then as it warms a bit more esters and even some drying astringency.

I’m a huge fan of Mt Carmel, especially their Copper Ale, but this one misses a bit. Kind of thin for a nut brown, and has a papery, almost musty note. Easy to drink, but not very interesting.
