Tmoney99 (3503), Cincinnati, Ohio, USA May 23, 2007 Growler. Poured hazy brown color with average fizzy off-white head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate nutty toasted malt aroma. Medium body with a smooth textrure. Moderate toasted balanced flavor with an average bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Good next addition to the list of Mt. Carmel brews. Dickinsonbeer (2512), Hoboken, New Jersey, USA Jan 6, 2008 Growler. Im not a huge fan of Brown ales, but this one was pretty good. Pours a clear deep ambery brown, with a thin lasting head. Aroma is very nutty, biscuity, toasty and hints of chocolate and light fruity esters as it warms. Flavor has more toast and nuts, with a sharp roast or chocolate malt character and then as it warms a bit more esters and even some drying astringency. sliffy (1951), Columbus, Ohio, USA Jul 26, 2007 On tap @ Dilly Deli: Pours a dark reddish brown with an off white head. Aroma, some faint chocolate, nutty, roasty and sweet smelling. Flavor, nutty roasted malts, some chocolate, caramel, and some earthy notes. Very solid brown ale. Saarlander (1448), The Saarland, Germany Jun 13, 2007 Growler from cewldre, Mystery swap 2.0. Very easy drinking, nutty, hazelnut, Slight roasted malt flavor, abit sweet, but it goes well here reminds me abit of rogue hazelnut, just not quite as much of a hazelnut flavor, quite good!

Serving: Draught sample.
Location: Jungle Jim’s Second Spring Beer Fest
Tasting Notes
Aroma: Maple, coffee, nut truffle.
Appearance: Clear chesnut with a frothy off-white crown.
Flavor: Coffee and mocha moving toward a nice nutty (hazelnut?) quality. Moderately sweet overall.
Palate: Medium-light to medium. A bit thin, but not watery or overly carbonated/ I would have just liked a little bit more body behind it. Smooth overall.
Overall: A very unique and well-crafted nut brown ale. Very good and highly recommended. Probably the best offering; might even be better than the Mr. Carmel Stout... Available in growlers at local stores VERY soon!
