Amber color with a small creamy head. A medium caramel aroma. A sweet roasted malt taste with a mild hint of grassy hops. Good balance and a nice sweetness at the end. Overall this is a nice tasting beer and a potential session beer. Nice.

Draft sample light copper. Nose toffee malt and light adjunct smell. Taste sweet malt up front, mid palate slight lemony tart. Light bitter finish. Didn’t seem like a scotch ale to me. Not off putting just not a stand out.

Nice looking beer. Hazy amber pour. Thin head. Although good looking just not my particular brand of vodka. Malty taste but gentler after taste. Ok but just not my style. Got 5 more maybe it’ll grow on me.

Draft. Light barley malt aroma. Golden yellow with moderate head. Sweet barley malt and light herbal flavor. Tasty, straight forward beer.

Sample from bottle at 2014 Price Hill Beer Fest, tasted on February 16, 2014. Fairly dark gold color, strong slightly boozy aroma, nice bittersweet flavor that’s refreshing but has backbone. This would indeed be a fine springtime beer.

Thanks to Ian for this. Pours a copper clear brown with a small white head. Aroma is caramel malt, bread and heather. Taste is nice caramel and bready malts coupled with light heather that gives it a springtime field feel.

Pours a deep copper color with a thin white head. Very nice toasty, hay malt aroma. There is a light to medium bitterness that is countered by a medium to heavy sweetness. It has a light body with a fluffy texture and a sweet finish. This is a nice warm-weather beer that I wouldn’t mind having again, and I would even pay a reasonable price at a bar.

12oz bottle into a pint glass. Pours a hazy light brown with a thick one finger light tan head. The head remains on the beer for a long time with tons of lacing. Almost reminds me of a nitro pour. There is a citrusy aroma along with some light caramel and toast. Not sure if it is the heather tips or not but there is an aroma I just can’t really put my finger on. Kind of floral but not something I have experienced before. Some citrus floral and citrus on the taste along with a moderate nuttiness. There is some medium roast and light caramel that is somewhat reminiscent of an English brown. A little bit of grass along with a light bitterness. Mouthfeel is very creamy and smooth and is quite nitro-like. Overall, a decent sessionable but slightly underwhelming beer. Not very scottish and more like an English Brown IMO. Nonetheless I would probably pick it up again.

caramel, clear amber color, medium sweetness, average carbonation, light body. One of my favorite spring beers.

Bottle to pint. Looks decent; clear-brown with thin lacing. Smells nutty and malty. Tastes okay, but I’m not getting much Scottish influence. Average on the palate. Okay.

Bottle purchased at Kroger Polaris. Pours clear amber with a thin beige head. Malty and nutty aroma with some crips hops. Grainy and caramelly malt flavor with a sweet and crisp finish.
