3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 redlem (1264) - Ohio, USA - APR 5, 2012Amber color with a small creamy head. A medium caramel aroma. A sweet roasted malt taste with a mild hint of grassy hops. Good balance and a nice sweetness at the end. Overall this is a nice tasting beer and a potential session beer. Nice.
3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 steelhead3686 (182) - Athens, Ohio, USA - MAY 12, 2013
Pours a deep copper color with a thin white head. Very nice toasty, hay malt aroma. There is a light to medium bitterness that is countered by a medium to heavy sweetness. It has a light body with a fluffy texture and a sweet finish. This is a nice warm-weather beer that I wouldn’t mind having again, and I would even pay a reasonable price at a bar.
3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 rangerred (662) - Johnson City, Tennessee, USA - APR 17, 2013
12oz bottle into a pint glass.
Pours a hazy light brown with a thick one finger light tan head. The head remains on the beer for a long time with tons of lacing. Almost reminds me of a nitro pour.
There is a citrusy aroma along with some light caramel and toast. Not sure if it is the heather tips or not but there is an aroma I just can’t really put my finger on. Kind of floral but not something I have experienced before.
Some citrus floral and citrus on the taste along with a moderate nuttiness. There is some medium roast and light caramel that is somewhat reminiscent of an English brown. A little bit of grass along with a light bitterness. Mouthfeel is very creamy and smooth and is quite nitro-like.
Overall, a decent sessionable but slightly underwhelming beer. Not very scottish and more like an English Brown IMO. Nonetheless I would probably pick it up again.

caramel, clear amber color, medium sweetness, average carbonation, light body. One of my favorite spring beers.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 b3shine (2243) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - JUL 7, 2012
Bottle to pint. Looks decent; clear-brown with thin lacing. Smells nutty and malty. Tastes okay, but I’m not getting much Scottish influence. Average on the palate. Okay.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 CaptainCougar (7093) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - MAY 8, 2012
12oz bottle courtesy of miketd: pours a clear deep orange amber with a spotty-lacing ring of off-white head. Has a lightly sweet, slightly grainy nose with a touch of noble hops. Starts with pretty good fullness and biscuity malty sweetness with a good balance of grassy hops before a drier bittersweet finish. Smooth and drinkable.
3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 TheOrange (479) - Kent, Ohio, USA - MAY 6, 2012
Beer pours orange with a medium sized white head.
The aroma is not hoppy nor malty... I assume that is the heather.
It is mild in the aroma.
The flavor is different... Not bad, just different. It is mellow and earthy.
The beer has a bit of a sour character.
FInish is not quick.
An ok beer.
2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 ContemplateBeer (1140) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - APR 21, 2012
Aroma of chocolate, caramel and herbal hops. Appearance was caramel gold with bone head. Flavor matches the nose, but with an odd finish, perhaps this is the heather tips? Palate is lightly carbonated and bubbly. Decent.
