Shared by dickinsonbeer at his gathering, from a growler. Black in color- no head, looks like the carbonation is suffering from the growler. Aroma: roast, chocolate, light notes of caramel and chalk. Taste: assertive roast and chocolate, balanced nicely by some sweet crystal/pale malts. Some lingering roast and dry chocolate in the finish. well done.

Black appearance with a nice brown head. Chocolatey coffee notes that balance really well with the creamy body. Nice and heavy, like a stout should be. Great in front of an outdoor fire. Winner.

UPDATED: OCT 14, 2007 Growler via Mys Swap 2.0 (thanks cewldre!). Pours black with a huge tan head. Nose is chocolate, roasty, and floral hops. Tastes just like it smells, is pretty sweet with a nice mocha finish. Body is light, carbonation moderate/high. Tis is quite tasty and highly sessionable. I would rate it even higher if it wasn’t so over-carbonated.

Thanks to hopdog for the growler... Appears a near black with chestnut edges when held up to the light. The small, tan head fades into a mild film and collar. Smell is of chocolate, caramel, nougat, cream, fresh peanuts, coffee, and cocoa powder. Taste echoes the aromas with some standout mocha flavors that make for an interesting brew. Mouthfeel is medium-full bodied, nutty, with some java lingering.

black, fine tan head, drops of lace, dark chocolate and roasted malt aroma with a hint of milky vanilla sweetness, creamy body, rich roasted flavor, lots of dark chocolate, lingering espresso character, sweetness comes from behind to add balance and complexity, lots of flavor in an easy drinking stout,

Poured an opaque black / red color with a medium sized, light tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of vanilla, roasted malts, and chocolate. Taste of chocolate, roast, light caramel malts, with dark fruits, and a fully attenuated, dry, finish. A straight-forward stout here.

Appearance: Pours a black body with a thin, khaki-colored head. Smell: Sweet-smelling aroma of coffee, dry cocoa, and liquorice candy. Taste: A tasty blend of caramel, chocolate milk, and liquorice tea with only the tiniest measure of hops showing as it warms. Ends with a bit of roastiness on the altogether soft, sweet finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Low carbonation. Drinkability: Though a light stout, its wonderfully flavorful and immensely drinkable.

Dark chocolate and black coffee aromas. Low hop and yeast aroma. Opaque black color with a creamy light brown head with good head retention and lacing. Dark chocolate and coffee flavors low hop flavor, light bitterness. Medium body with creamy mouthfeel. Roasted grain astringency, Dry roasted grain finish. Good stout!
