Bottle. The pour was jet black with a slight dark brown hue around the edges and had an average sized (1-2 finger) light brown frothy head, that reduced quickly to just a thin layer of residue which produced a bit of fair lacing. The aroma was of a roasted grain malt and a mild leathery yeast with notes of chocolate, coffee and molasses with just a hint of dark fruit. The taste was lightly sweet and a bit bitter with notes of chocolate and molasses throughout with a strong coffee note somewhere in between with a nice pronounced dark fruit presence at the end. The flavor hung on for a decent amount of time which allowed the fruity coffee flavor to be fully enjoyed. Mouthfeel was just a tad beyond medium in body with the texture being creamy and a little oily and having an almost flat carbonation. Overall a nice robust Stout, with a unique fruity finish.

Light chocolate aroma with a smooth coffee finish. Well balanced light creamy body. This is a good early summer stout. Not to heavy and doesn’t have that filling feeling in the belly

Bottle thanks to DrSilverworm. Black pour with a small creamy head that fades to a ring. Aroma is dark roasted coffee with some chocolate and light ash. Taste is roasty and somewhat bitter. Dark roasted (almost burnt) coffee, dark chocolate, light smoke, and a hint of vanilla. Medium body. Pretty solid stout that I might have to go back to.

Bottle. 10/12/14. Pours opaque and black with a dense and active light brown head. Aroma is roasty, chocolate, vanilla, caramel, some coffee, hint of char/smoke; smells great. Taste is smokey, vanilla, chocolate, caramel, roasty; finish is creamy and smokey with roast malts. The roast malts here are big winner in my book. Light lacing. Medium-light bodied, thin but creamy. Medium-low carbonation. I’m ashamed it’s taken me this long to try this beer. Really nice job!

Draft: very dark brown with a nice big, tan head. Lots of chocolate aromas. Taste is bitter chocolate and some nice mild coffee taste. Wonderful stout, doesn’t get the credit it deserves.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a dark mahogany color with a small beige head. A nice nose of chocolate and roasted malt. A sweet and bitter chocolate flavor, caramel malts, some ash, lactose. Pretty darn good. Dry mostly.

Bottled sample at Jakes in Ashland Ohio. Very dark in colour. Lots of coffee flavour. Would have been good with dessert ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Lightly ashy chocolate coffee malt and dry grass aroma. Black with small head. Sweet mocha coffee malt and lightly bitter hay/ash flavor. A nicely drinkable stout.

Sampler from bottle at 2014 Price Hill Beer Fest on February 16, 2014--glad they had this because I can’t find my original tasting notes. Very appealing roasted malt aroma, opaque brown hue, good taste that doesn’t quite live up to the aroma’s promise but still a quite satisfying brew.

12oz bottle. Opaque black body. Steady, thick beige head. Roasty chocolate aroma. Kind of bitter and sharp, in a cocoa way. Big creamy chocolate tones. This is a solid Stout, Thick specialty malts. Certainly a good beer, exceeded my moderate expectations.

Nice brew!! 12 oz bottle to glass. Coffe and roast in aroma dark pour. Taste is similar to aroma maybe even too much coffee in taste. Did enjoy the over roasted coffee flavor. Med palate
