Extra from trade with phaleslu...thanks! Brown pour, small off white head. Burned caramel, vegetal notes, herbs and a bit of booze on the nose. Flavor is full of caramel, buchwheat pancakes and a very light bitter finish. Good beer.

courtesy of markwise.
pours amber, off-white head.
Aroma light spices, malty caramel character. Found the aroma to be a little lacking, though the taste made up for it.
Flavors, got a lot of nice winter spices, cinnamon, some caramel/toffee, chocolate.
Lingering roasted malts, good balance with a mild caramel finish.

Aroma of nutmeg, banana, spices, caramel malts, brown sugar, and a little earthy note. Flavor is sweet, with caramel malts, banana, brown sugar, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, spices, and toast. Light-medium bodied, with light carbonation and a slightly sticky mouthfeel. Sweet finish. Pretty good. Re-rate: Better than I remembered. Nice spice-hop-malt balance. Good body, not overly spicy.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
12 oz. bottle (label says 8% not 6%). Pours a clear deep reddish copper color with a fine beige head. The aroma was caramel malt with some spice and earthy (herbal)hops. The flavor is a well blended mixture of caramel malt and earthy hops. Moderately sweet to start with a dry bitterness in the finish. There isn’t a singular spice I can pick out, but there is enough there to be a presence. Medium bodied with a smooth mouthfeel. This is a nice beer to end a cold evening with. Actually, the malts are coming out a bit more as I continue to type and drink.
Is this the same beer that had 4 ratings all from prior to 2009? There are clear differences in the stated ABV.
