Commercial Description:
Copper-hued and aromatic with Pacific Northwest-grown hops, Cloudcap is a rich and satisfying classic example of Pacific Northwest Amber Ale. The addition of hops at three different stages of the kettle boil, and careful attention to conditioning temperatures, give Cloudcap its special creamy, clean, and lightly fruity flavor. This is Mt. Hood Brewing Co.'s original ale. O.G. 1.054/ 5.0% abv/ Mt. Hood, Cascade, Willamette hops/ Four different malts.

Draft at Hood RIver Hops Fest 2007. An unclear brown beer with a thin orangey head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of caramel. The flavor is sweet matly with light notes fo butter, leading to a dry bitter finish.

Bright dark copper colour. Caramel and earth-accented aroma with woody hop notes. Herbal, fruity hop accent with light balancing earthy, chewy malts. Quite a well-made example while staying true to the mellowness of the style.

Sampled draught at Mt Hood Brewing, Government Camp
Amber color, tan head, nice lacing. Nose of grassy hops & gingerbread malts. Nicely caramelly with a balanced finish. Eh.

Brown ale light appearance: brown and rusty colors, a little darker than the beer in the picture to the left. Another berer with a tinny copper nose. The texture on this one is very good: coarse and wet with some good tasty resiny dark hops, sweet appl,es and overall some good malt sweetness. Not bad for a typical amber ale.
